I love this Blistex product! I am unable to use a waxy based lip moisturizer, because I get cold sores if I use any solid brand or tube, not sure why, but this product is fantastic! If my lips start to get chapped, I hear up on my water & use this medicated prod. For quick healing.
I have not been able to buy it any longer at our local dollar store, and I haven’t been inside a Walmart store in over a year due to the virus. Happy to have Amazon to order things the box stores will only have available for inside purchases or force to pay a fortune for delivery if you only need 1 or 2 products.

So, you know those little blurbs and quizzes you see all the time and one question reads, “If you were going to spend a month on a deserted island and could only take one thing with you, what would it be?” – I ALWAYS, without fail, think of my Blistex Medicated Ointment as the only answer. I wear it daily and have been doing so for decades. In the 1960s my grandmother died from cancer. My mom found this Blistex Medicated Ointment for my grandma’s dry lips and she said it helped her more than “anything” – I was just a kid in elementary school then, not quite ready for makeup in the mid-60s but I started using it for moisture on my dry lips way back then in the winter of 1965-66. Now, a lot has happened since then and, as they say, “I’ve tried it all….” but nothing has ever taken the place, or even really come close to my Blistex! It is the single most consistently used product on my shelf. It is the “I can’t live without it” one – It keeps my lips moist and dewy looking, it protects them against the elements and feeling soft and comfortable. I have very dry and extremely sensitive skin but regular use of Blistex Ointment has kept my lips soft and moist and healthy over the DECADES. I truly would not know what to do without it and over the years (decades!) I’ve sampled/ried all kinds of things to compete with it. NOTHING compares. And it’s so convenient — and easy to carry ANYWHERE. Won’t spill, won’t melt, won’t get hard, won’t dry out…..it’s darn near perfect, otherwise, why would I have used it exclusively for over 55 years! —-> A resounding one hundred stars. Plus.

I love this product, I do. I have used it before, and it worked wonders. But I have still not received my order. It’s been quite a few weeks now. Product overall is great. Shipping is awful.

If you anxiously lick your lips or are always in the wind then this needs to be in your collection of must haves along with keys and cellphone before leaving the house.
I have the worst lips, I get immediate improvement overnight with this, it stings a little when first applied if your lips are extreme but it dissipates almost immediately. I have tried practically every lip ointment for chapped lips and everything leaves me running back to this product. It’s a little more expensive but I’ve had tubes of it last me a year with almost daily use.

I think my expectations for this were too high, based on reading many of the reviews. It helps quite a bit with chapped lips, but it’s certainly no miracle. You have to be careful not to use too much and to rub it in well, or it leaves an unpleasant white cast on your lips. I have found other products that I think work better, and I didn’t enjoy the taste at all, nor find it that enjoyable to use. Not something I would buy again.

It works wonders! It actually instantly hydrated my lips, from being flaky and chapped, to quite smooth in a matter of minutes.
Though, I did use it *before* my lips got extremely chapped, which might be why it worked so quickly.
It also feels kinda weird at first(maybe cuz I ate something spicy beforehand and it got mixed with it LOL), but then it leaves you with a really nice, pleasant, cooling sensation that lasts for a good while. It’d feel really great if your lips are painfully chapped!
However, do remember that it is a medicated ointment. It’s not a lip balm.
It’s not good for kissing, eating, and leave somewhat of a white cast on your lips.
If you need something for daytime/going out, use the regular Blistex medicated balm(or another kind of lip balm if your lips aren’t super chapped), and apply the ointment in the morning or at night. Make sure you wipe it off and apply a more colorless variety if you are trying to be presentable.

I have fans blowing on my face constantly which helps me stay cool and also, (you guessed it) dries out my lips. Lip balms are useless. I used to use carmex but that wasnt cutting it anymore so I switched to this. Im liking it so far. Soaks in quickly unlike carmex and keeps lips moisturized for a decent period of time.
