This sunscreen goes on nicely, but with any mild perspiration, it migrates to my eyes and burns. I was disappointed because it has a clean scent, is invisible, and feels really nice.

Unfortunately, my face had little dry, scaley bumps after using this. Just a reminder to myself do a skin test before using a product.
I was excited to use this because vitamin C & sunscreen are 2 great skincare products, plus the brand is a well known brand. I put some on the back of my hands first, then put it on my face. It felt ok going on and did not leave a white cast. I put it on early evening to see how it felt on my face before trying before work & it being a mess. The next day, overnight, I had tiny little bumps and my skin got really dry. So this didn’t go well with my skin. I have sensitive skin & I realize there are products that aren’t going to work for me. Even though this didn’t work for me, it blended well into the skin and does not have a scent.

I don’t go a day without sunscreen on my face and I e tried many. I love that this is sunscreen and skin care! I use other vitamin c products so this can allow me to combine steps which is great. The lotion is a little runny but not too bad. It spreads nicely on the face. There is no scent that I could discern. There is also zero white cast. I would say this sunscreen is also somewhat moisturizing but without leaving your face greasy or feeling heavy. It gives you a healthy skin look. I also had no issues using the under makeup. I believe this size tube should last a few months easily if you’re only using it on your face.

This Vitamin C SPF 50 moisturizer by Paula’s Choice is very nice. There is a soft tint to the sunscreen but it vanishes into the skin once you rub the moisturizer in, leaving behind a nice dewy glow. I love that this sunscreen acts as a moisturizer and vitamin C serum kind of all in one. I don’t find that it makes my face greasy or anything like that. My face feels moisturized and soft but has the protection of a sunscreen. Great product.

I am a big fan of wearing facial sunscreen every day. However, with having sensitive skin, I have found my best bet for facial sunscreen is always a physical sunscreen, not a chemical one, which this one by Paula’s Choice is. There are also a ton of health and environmental reasons for which I personally prefer physical sunscreens over chemical ones, but I also understand that some people just don’t like the texture of them (or haven’t found the right one), and that POC have a more difficult time with physical sunscreens. So, here I am, leaving a review for the chemical sunscreen that is Paula’s Choice SPF 50 Vitamin C Sheer Moisturizer…
Firstly, the bottle arrived shrink wrapped, preventing it from spilling or leaking during shipping. Secondly, the expiration date is on the crimped end of the tube. I’m not wild that I only have 7 months to use this before it expires (4/25), but it is what it is. As I always do with my sunscreens, I gave it a good shake before taking the cap off. As it is advertised as a Sheer Moisturizer, I was expecting a lotion consistency, but it is honestly more like a peach colored liquid. For anyone who has texture issues with sunscreen or feels like sunscreen is “too heavy”, you are really going to like this! The liquid goes on sheer without leaving behind a tint, and absorbs very quickly. As my skin tends to be on the drier side, it wasn’t moisturizing enough for me, but I suspect that oily skin to normal skin folks will love this. It is also perfect for using during the humid dog days of summer, when you can’t imagine having anything thick, oily, or moisturizing on your face as an added layer. Also, obviously, if you don’t find this moisturizing enough, you can apply a moisturizer underneath it.
Now, this isn’t a water resistant sunscreen, but it is an excellent every day facial sunscreen if you must use a chemical one. The vast majority of chemical sunscreens irritate my skin, leaving it red and blotchy, and often feels like they burn my skin. Paula’s Choice SPF 50 5% Vitamin C Sheer Moisturizer was comfortable on my face all day! NO irritation at all, and that is saying a lot!
The price point on this, for me, is on the high side for a chemical sunscreen, particularly since it is only 2 oz. However, it may be worth it to you if you are looking for a non irritating sunscreen that doesn’t irritate your skin. Overall, it is honestly the best chemical facial sunscreen I have tried in a very, very long time.

I was a bit taken aback by the color of this sunscreen, thinking it was a tinted mineral (I don’t usually go for mineral spfs) but no, it’s most definitely a chemical sunscreen! It’s very easy to blend and goes in seamlessly into my skin tone. The finish is gorgeous, it’s my skin but brighter and more even toned. Even my mom said I looked happy and well rested lol. It’s very fluid and does tend to run, so blending quickly is essential. It’s lightweight and only lightly hydrating, great for oily/combination skin! It does have a scent, it’s a bit of your typical sunscreen smell but with a hint of cinnamon(?) and citrus–maybe from the vitamin c, it’s hard to describe but personally, I’ve come to really enjoy it. If you’re looking for fragrance-free, than you may want to skip this one.

This works great. I didn’t feel like they made the tube look bigger in the promo pics than it really is but the weight is as promised. It works great as a final step in a skincare routine. It’s gentle and lightweight and non irritating. I didn’t have any noticeable white cast. There’s no strong smell and no greasy “sunscreen” after feel. No tiny breakout pimples like most sunscreens give me. Overall, it’s been a great experience.
