I have very troubled skin, including my scalp. I used this after reading about how this soap is great for sensitive skin. I have used it as laundry detergent, shampoo, body wash, and hand soap. This is seriously the greatest find ever because my skin has never broken out with this and it is extremely versatile.

Well packaged and decent price with the Amazon subscription. I can find it cheaper elsewhere, but this’ll do when I can’t make it out to shop.

I had heard many things over the years about Dr. Bronner’s soaps on different blogs and such but was always a litle hesitant to try it because I have sensitive skin and it doesn’t always respond well to new products. Also, I always thought that the only shampoo that would work well was an expensive salon brand. I couldn’t argue with all the 5-star reviews so I decided to bite the bullet and give it a try and I’m so glad that I did! I use it as a face wash, body wash and a shampoo and my skin and hair has never looked better! I dilute it 2:1 in an old Dial foaming soap pump and it is amazing. So much lather and the almond smell is great. I feel squeaky clean but it rinses well with no residue and my skin has been super soft. I barely have to even use lotion after although there is no greasiness. Also my hair is kind of wavy but more on the frizzy side between curly and straight and before it would never look good unless I blew it dry and straightened it. Now after using this, I can actually let my hair air dry and it looks great! I heard some people used different rinses and special conditioners but I just use my regular conditioner and its fine. My hair is shiny and has a ton of volume. I love this stuff!! Try it, you will be pleasantly surprised. I just ordered a gallon of both the almond and peppermint. Haven’t used it for cleaning the house yet but I can only imagine that it will be just as great. Amazing product 🙂

This is great soap. I use for all my bathrooms and kitchen sinks. If you have onion smell on your hands, this will remove the smell immediately. My husband uses it in the shower, but he says it is a bit drying. It has so many uses for cleaning.

We use Dr. Bronner’s for so many things in our house, but we use it most often as a body wash. So because of this, we go through the product relatively more quickly than if we were just using it as a cleaner. Because of this, we opted for this larger size recently, because we wanted to get the most value for our money. Though initially it is a larger sum to pay, the value per ounce is significant. And, we likely will only have to purchase this once a year. A little bit goes a long way.
And, perhaps just as important, we love the scent of this almond variety – it is not too overpowering, but is a fresh and unique scent for a body wash. I don’t like the other scents of Dr. Bronner as much, and find some of them to be a bit too “floral” and at times overpowering.
I want to also add that when we received this item the top cap was cracked. Luckily it was well-sealed and did not leak, however I was disappointed that I wouldn’t have the cap to use for the year-long journey we’d have together. I covered it with some plastic wrap instead.

Use it for refilling soap dispensers and washing hands!

These days, this is my go-to cleanser. I use it for everything! I add a teaspoon of it into a spray bottle, top it off with water, and use it in my kitchen. I use it as clothes detergent for delicate clothes. I clean pretty much everything with it, because I find that castile soap is far superior than most of the chemical-based cleaning products on the market.
Castile soap has been around longer than most of us care to count. But Dr.Bronner’s has perfected the formula, in my opinion. I find that by soaking stained clothing in hot water and some castile soap, it removes virtually every stain I’ve come into contact with (though sometimes you have to leave it soaking for up to a week–worth it, though!). It removes stains that bleach cannot even remove!
I also use it for cleaning out bottles and things I wish to reuse/repurpose when they have had a bad-smelling or strongly odored item in them. The castile soap neutralizes even the worst odors, in my experience. I first discovered this because I collect vintage perfume bottles–the reusable kinds with the atomizing wand attached. Most of the ones I collect are from estate sales, where invariably someone’s great aunt used to keep some noxious smelling perfume in them for decades. If I make a bath of hot water and castile soap (only about 1 tbsp to three quarts), I find it removes even decades-old scent from glass bottles.
I also use this on vintage linens I collect. It’s truly wondrous to see stained vintage linens go from dingy yellow or brown to white and bright within a few days of soaking. I’ve had amazing luck with this.
I did another review of this and talked about my dumb luck with this as a carpet cleaner–I won’t repeat it all here, except to say that if you have ever used those “Bissel Professional” carpet cleaners in your steam cleaner, try this instead. Mix about a tablespoon of this with 2 or 3 quarts of water and use it in place of the commercial steam cleaning carpet soaps. You’ll be amazed at the difference it makes! Plus…your carpet smells amazing afterward.
