I really wanted to love this sunscreen. I looked everywhere for a sunscreen I could get in the US with Mexoryl. I am super fair skinned, in my late 30s, and I live in Hawaii so I’m really passionate about sunscreen. I was going to the beach the other day so I tried this out, before I left the house. I put it on my legs, and then decided not to use it anywhere else because it was getting on everything. It is very chalky and leaves chalk like marks all over your clothes. It worked great, I didn’t get a sunburn or anything, and I would definitely use the sunscreen again. I will use it all up, HOWEVER this is a sunscreen I will only be using for initial application before I even put on any clothes or swimwear. I will never put this on while wearing clothes again, and I would not reapply it, rather top it off with something else if I needed to reapply. It was just that messy. It made lines on my skin too where it wouldn’t rub in easily. It has a very similar feeling to a makeup primer, so it would probably be excellent on the face under makeup. So great sunscreen overall, but application could be an issue, especially if you’re like me with sensory issues and can’t stand getting anything on your clothes.

Dry skin. On Retinols. 30-35 years of age. Autistic. Waste conscious.
In searching to simplify the steps of skincare that I was doing, from a skin benefit, plastic & a mental benefit lens, I found this in a recommendation from Dr. Dray for dry skin. Having multiple layers of gunk on my skin doesn’t feel good for me. I get crabby, and if it tingles I feel like I can’t breathe, and just straight want to wash it off my face. This is working instead of a moisturizer in the morning so that I don’t have to cake sunscreen over a moisturizer. It doesn’t sting around the eyes on application.– if you’re ugly crying it totally stings a bit, but you’re ugly crying so what does it matter that there’s sunscreen in your eye? Okay, it sucks, but it is 100% better than crying Neutrogena sunscreens into your eyes. It doesn’t dry me out like all the Japanese/korean chemical sunscreens do. It doesn’t really have the goop feeling that some of the HA chemical sunscreens do. It doesn’t pill. I put it on my husband that is a medium shade African American and it didn’t cast. It does look a bit pasty until it absorbs into your skin. I wish it finished SLIGHTLY more matte, but I don’t look like a glazed donut– All in all, a really wonderful addition that has put my mind at ease that it is actually working for more than an hour & can stand on its own without other products to make it functional.
I like that there is so much in one plastic container. A Biore UV container should really be used in 20 days… so that is a lot of waste because of sunscreen. So, balancing scientific sun protection with minimizing plastic consumption– and all of the rest of the above wonderful things. This is my holy grail sunscreen.

I’m usually a mineral sunscreen wearer only but I recently learned about this sunscreen and Mexoryl XL in general and how amazing it is at blocking UVA rays (the aging rays). I’m very particular about how sunscreens feel and absorb on my skin so I’m always nervous/skeptical trying a new one but this is PERFECTION. I’ve tried probably 40 different sunscreens over the last couple years in search of my holy grail and I think I’ve finally found it! It’s moisturizing and gives you a dewy base without being greasy or overly glowly. Plus it doesn’t cause my skin to feel dry by the end of the day like a lot of other sunscreens do. The one and only downside is that I don’t like the way this smells. To me it smells like, and this sounds really weird but…it smells like cigarette butts! I quit smoking years ago but I remember that smell and it smells just like it to me. It only smells when I’m actively applying it to my face and then it very quickly dissipates. It’s kinda gross but not enough to knock it off the top sunscreen spot in my book. I wish there were other ways to buy this in the US but I’m definitely going to have my cousin in Canada stock up and bring me some bottles when she visits twice a year. If you’re debating giving it a try just do it! It’s actually not a bad price considering the size of the bottle either!

Bought this product because other products seemed much more greasy. It did not disappoint. I use it every day on my face.
Perfect choice –
Great for face and neck. Thick consistency but easy to put on and blend in.

Love this! No oily residue and no odor. Best yet is the excellent sun protection.

I had high hopes for this sunscreen because it’s one of the only ones I’ve found that contains Mexoryl, which is said to be synergistic with avobenzone. Unfortunately, upon using it I quickly found two major defects in the product: (1) It goes on chalky, so it has a whitening effect similar to mineral-based sunscreens, and, if you happen to break a sweat after it’s fully cured, it precipitates out somehow so that it looks as if you have some sort of weird powder daubed randomly across your face; (2) This sunscreen also ranks high on the eye-burning meter. I found that my eyes sting horribly when the sunscreen is merely near them; it isn’t even necessary for me to sweat and get the sunscreen in my actual eyes for it to burn. One of the ingredients must be volatilizing due to body heat and getting into my eyes as a gas!? Anyway, it’s rough, and worse than many other chemical sunscreens I’ve tried (all of which seem to share this trait to an extent, maybe because of the widespread use of phenoxyethanol).
Update: people have asked about the ingredients, so I’ve attached a couple of photos of the bottle. As you can see, zinc is not listed, despite the claims of a couple of users who said otherwise. (Weird, and a tiny bit sketch, that the ingredients aren’t specified anywhere on the product’s page!)

I live on the beach and love long walks along the ocean shore. I always use this sunscreen.

I ordered a 200ml bottle and only received 90ml despite paying for the bigger bottle. Very annoyed and disappointed! I used to love this product and company, but after this experience I feel ripped off and likely will not purchase from or recommend this company again.
