I’ve have scanned dozens of sunscreens on my Yuka app to find the cleanest product. None of the mainstream brands have been above 51. Even this companies other sunscreens rate bad and poor. This particular one gets an Excellent rating!

This sunscreen is a bit thick and takes a bit to rub it, but once rubbed in there isn’t any discoloration and it looks nice. There is a bit of a smell but it isn’t offensive and doesn’t last too long. I don’t like this as a daily sunscreen as I have other (still mineral) sunscreens that wear a bit better under makeup, but it definitely doesn’t wear terrible under makeup either, just not the best. I use this on days I’m going without makeup and it works well for that use. The bottle is fairly small but there are 2 and the size allows for me to keep it in my bag when I need touch ups.

This is a two-pack of Seaweed Bath Co.’s Sea Kale & Prebiotics Everyday Mineral Lotion. It’s broad-spectrum SPF 40 sunscreen that is water resistant. This is gluten free, paraben free, cruelty free, vegan, and definitely really effective at moisturizing.
The active ingredient is zinc oxide at 15% – a definite winner for me. This is noted as being good for sensitive skin and I’ve definitely not had any issues with it.
The scent is noted as sea salt and bergamot. It’s definitely a bit strong for me and I’d be hesitant to wear it if I was gathering in a restaurant near the beach.
However, this applies very easily and smooths in quite nicely for me. I tried it and it definitely seems to be water resistant and protected me well from the sun. It’s suggested to re-apply it after two hours in the sun or after 80 minutes of swimming – I followed these instructions and it worked well.
While I’m not particularly fond of the scent, it does eventually fade and this is definitely a winner as a sunscreen and in terms of protecting my skin while outside. I do a lot of outdoor events and plan to keep using this as a sunscreen.

I’ve purchased this product before and have never had any issues, but this time around when I open the package the top seal was busted and there was sunscreen everywhere. This won’t stop me from purchasing this product again but I’m disappointed with the delivery this time.

Skin burns within 5 minutes of sun exposure. This helps a lot! The SPF 30 in this brand didn’t provide much sun burn protection for me. Lasts about 2 hours, then I need to add more.

Smells like public restroom cleaner. Couldnt take the smell. Horrible. Rubbed in well, but it was just too gross.

I have liked all the sunscreens I have tried from the Seaweed Bath Co. so far. This Everyday Mineral Lotion is no exception. The SPF 40 is 15% non-nano zinc oxide, and it provides great protection. It takes a little work to rub in, but absorbs nicely with no noticeable cast on my medium light skin. It feels great on and is lightly moisturizing but not greasy. I think it smells great. The scent is light and beachy, and kinda reminds me of a margarita.
My husband, son and I all wore this sunscreen while sight-seeing for 5 hours on a hot Florida day, along with the brand’s SPF 50 Brighten & Protect Sheer Tint Face Fluid. None of us burned although I forgot to bring it along to reapply after a couple of hours. We were outside in the bright sun for at least a couple of hours total during the time the sun is the strongest. I’m definitely happy this worked so well, but I recommend applying more often than we did.
