I love this product. I have used it for the past two weeks and it works great. I have really sensitive skin and am prone to acne. I was on the hunt for a product that would work great for a taking off my makeup at the end of the day without breaking me out or irritating my skin. The application is awesome! The little spoon is great for helping scoop out the product. You only need a small amount. The product will last a long time for the amount you get. I definitely recommend this product!!!

ive tried lots of makeup removing balms and this one is by far my favorite. very much worth the price, very gentle on my sensitive skin, and doesn’t sting my eyes like some other balms. lasts soooo long too

Buckle up cause this is gonna be a long one. I always see people leaving 1 and 2 star reviews on some products that I absolutely LOVE, like this one. So finally I decided to read some of them. I’ve been using this makeup remover for 2 years now and if I hadn’t I would probably be skeptical buying if I saw the reviews so let me address most of the bad ones.
1.) doesn’t cleanse good/leaves oil/ you have to wash your face after using it
Answer: this is a MAKEUP REMOVER cleansing BALM. It is meant to be followed up with a face cleanser, as is the next step in a skin care routine after makeup removal. Take a dime size amount and rub it in with your fingers, it will melt and feel like oil. Slowly start adding water (best to do in shower) and it will begin to turn to a sort of creamy consistency. Rinse off and follow with face wash. If you read the instructions and use the product properly it does exactly what it claims to, removes all of your makeup so you can start your skin care routine.
2.) smells bad
Answer: this is a CLEAN product. It isn’t scented because that’s what is best for your skin. It is made without sulfates, parabens, and FRAGRANCES. It doesn’t smell bad, it just doesn’t smell like anything really.
3.) doesn’t remove mascara/waterproof mascara
Answer: THIS IS NOT AN EYE MAKEUP REMOVER . God help us all. This literally says a makeup remover for SKIN.
Overall this is a gentle makeup removing balm that has the option for exfoliating while cutting down on the waste of wipes and being super good for your skin. A little goes a long way and a tub lasted me over a year. All you need to have success with this product is – common sense, the ability to read and follow simple instructions, and the bare minimum simplest of skin care routines. If you have sensitive skin, sample this to make sure it doesn’t upset your skin. But it you’re someone who doesn’t like this product, make sure you’re using it properly before saying how awful it is. If you use it correct and still dislike it that’s one thing, but expecting it to do things it’s not meant for is unrealistic. You don’t get a good makeup remover, eye makeup remover, and face cleanser all in one.

I seriously love this stuff. You can use it quick to take off makeup or massage a little longer to get out minor clogs. Just used the beads with it tonight and I’m amazed. I’ve been through a lot of oil/balm cleansers and this is my new #1. I’m an very acne prone, like new pimples daily. I literally wash this over with a warm rag and go straight to my oils, and seriously no new breakouts and most that i can tell would have become an issue kind of go away on their own. I dare say I might not even moisturize tonight. Skin doesn’t feel tight or dry. Please don’t stop making.

I have used Drunk Elephant’s vitamin C serum for years, so I don’t know why it took me so long to find the makeup cleanser, but I am a fan. I have tried other makeup removers and while some have a better scent, they are too expensive. Others aren’t really “melting” and require a lot of product. This Drunk Elephant cleanser, however, really hit the mark for me. I appreciate that I can use the product to remove both face and eye makeup, and I like the option to do more of an exfoliation a few times week with the product. The biggest win for me, though, is the fact that the product really does melt – no little clumps of product on my hands/fingers/face. While I wish the scent was a little more pleasant, the fact that the price point is reasonable and the product actually works without drying out my skin means I have found another Drunk Elephant winner.

I LOVE this product!! I have very sensitive, acne prone skin. I also am prone to eczema. This cleansing balm is a miracle product. I double cleanse, and this is the perfect cleanser for the first step. It removes all my physical sunscreen and mascara easily. If it makes you breakout, you are probably using too much. You only need a very small amount. This has helped my skin so much, my acne is becoming less and less, and my face is looking so healthy. Try it, you just might love it too!

This works wonderfully for getting off stubborn makeup, but 1. it burns my eyes REALLY badly and my eyes go blurry momentarily if any of it seeps into my eyes when I’m washing it off, and 2. it smells rancid 🙁 I am very easy-going about scents usually so it says a lot that the scent bothers me this much. it smells like old body products or old oil. It definitely does its job, there are just some hang-ups to watch out for.

I was on a search for a cleanser that would remove waterproof mascara. I’d been using a cleansing oil from Philosophy that i loved but was discontinued. I dont really like oil based cleansing products because of they residue left behind. I’ve tried a few different products and haven’t liked anything until this. The consistency is much like coconut oil and will melt from the warmth of your hand. The smell isnt that great but is tolerable for the brief amount of time im using it. I have relatively sensitive skin and tend to breakout. I’ve been using this product for a week now and find it to be gentle. With a little gentle scrubbing it removes my waterproof mascara without a problem. I then follow up with a cleanser to wash everything off after that. I definitely recommend this and will be repurchasing it.
