As my wife and I embark on many travels, this Paula’s Choice Hydration Trio Travel Essentials pack is perfect for our needs. Best part–they’re made in the USA so the ingredients should be tested and safe plus they didn’t use animals for testing.
We both like the smaller size at .5 ounces versus the 3.0 ounce refillable travel tubes that we currently use. That will cut the bulk in my shaving kit quite a bit and free up space in my carry-on. My wife will definitely be using all three but for me, I’ll be using the moisturizer and wrinkle lotions.
It’s not cheap but I go by “we get what we pay for” and so far, my wife and I are happy with this travel skincare pack.

There is no way I can justify the nearly $36 price for these three tiny tubes of moisturizer. There is not enough product to use to determine if there is long-term improvement, and the short-term improvement is not worth the price.
The size of the tubes might be useful if you’re flying on a budget airline where you can only take a backpack and you need to downsize your toiletries as much as possible.
The tinted lotion with SPF is nice. It took a while to blend in but one it did, it gave a decent, flattering bit of color to my pale skin. It give leave a sticky residue so I could not apply powder or blush on top without it looking clumpy.
The other two lotions are very lightweight. They absorbed fast and without any oiliness or residue, which was nice as some heavier day lotions leave my skin very shiny. But this came at a cost of them providing all-day moisture. My skin was completely dry within a few hours. These are NOT intense hydration solutions the way the labels suggest.

I used these on my little getaway trip, and I love that they took up barely any space in my toiletry bag. I used all three products for the few days I was away, and none irritated my sensitive skin, which is saying a lot because my skin is sensitive to both Vitamin C and sunscreen. I’m very pleased with these products.
Yas –
I really like the idea of offering mini sizes of products to try before having to commit to something bigger and more expensive while you are unsure if it works for you. These also work great for travel sizes but the caveat would be that this would probably only be good for a short trip like a weekend as these are very small tubes. There is also the problem with these being not reuse friendly and just adds to plastic waste.
Having said that-I do not think it is worth the price for this mini set. These are some small tubes and you only get a handful of applications.
The sunblock, if applied properly, would be gone in a weekend at most, especially if you were outside and needed to be reapplying often. This is also a very mattifying product that in spite of following the supposed pro tip on the back of the package, applying the moisturizer before the spf still left me with a very dull and matte looking face. The tube says it leaves all skin types with a sheer, natural tint but each time I tried it (with the moisturizer first and without as well) it left my skin looking very dull and almost dry. There was no sheen or much less healthy looking skin. I felt like I had to apply another layer of moisturizer for how dull and dry my skin looked. It also pilled on top of the moisturizer so that was unpleasant. It is also not enough spf with just 13.1% zinc oxide–you need 20% in order to be truly broad spectrum protection. More odd is that there is no complete list of ingredients for the sunscreen. The package has the full list of ingredients for the moisturizers but there is none for the sunscreen and it isn’t on the tube either. I find that odd and lacking in transparency. There is tint to this and it was fine on my skin and I was able to blend it in but obviously there isn’t just zinc oxide in here so the lack of information is not a good thing.
The moisturizers are very lightweight as stated on the packaging. This is definitely better for normal and oily skin since in combination with the sunscreen you are left with a dry palette of skin. The hydrate moisturizer is very light weight and didn’t seem to be anything special in my opinion. The brighten moisturizer seemed a little thicker and moisturizing. I applied both under the sunscreen to see if it improved the sunscreen but to no avail.
I like the idea of portable, sample sizes but the actual products itself in this set are not appealing or worth the $35. The moisturizers were just ok and the sunscreen is basically useless for actual broad spectrum protection and lacking in transparency in ingredients has me taking a pass on this.

As my wife said, “How much was this?” Then she did some research and decided that if its high end face care products, it isn’t all that out there price wise. This is a good way to sample 3 of Paula’s Choice Skincare products.
They have a nice fragrance, go on easy and seem to hold up very well. So I guess you get what you pay for, in this case, a very nice Hydration trio in nice travel size containers.

I’m taking this one with me when I go out of town in a few weeks! I especially love the SPF moisturizer. I also use the barrier repair moisturizer for a night cream. They go on smoothly and absorb quickly without feeling greasy.

I got them exactly when I went to Cancun for a summer trip. They are so effective at keeping my skin well hydrated and moisturized. The formula is mild and soothes my sensitive skin. They also helped prevent sunburn from long exposure to sun and sea.
