I love this lipbalm. It honestly doesn’t really have much of a taste or smell, but it also doesn’t taste bad or smell bad, it just moisturizes lips, EXACTLY what it should do! It’s a very large size which makes it a great deal for the money. I also love the Jones Road Lippie stick and this is comparable, with less of a smell BUT that one just went up to $22 / tiny regular size tube, so here you are getting probably 4 times the amount of product for $6 more, you can not beat that. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it is too big to fit in a tiny purse, but thats ok, it’s my go-to everywhere else!

I love this lip balm, but it’s also great for any dry spots on your face and I also use it under my eyes to soften my fine lines.
Update… 6-7 months later and they are still going strong with plenty left for months to come! I have 3… one at my bedside, one in the living room next to my chair and one in my purse. I use them all daily. Worth the price and work beautifully.

First off, I love the scent of this product! It was not at all what I expected when I saw the black currant and balsam flavor on the packaging. I would say the scent leans more into the balsam end of things and is a bit piney and menthol-y. I didn’t really smell or taste any fruity elements from the black currant. Not super strong or overpowering, just different and very pleasant, in my opinion!
I also love the texture and how this lip balm applies. It’s a great lip balm and left my lips feeling very refreshed without leaving them caked in greasy film or residue like some cheap lip balms. Speaking of the price, I’m not crazy about this one! At an eye-popping $25 on sale, each tube of this stuff comes out to around $12! Insane! While I understand the “made without chemicals” & sustainability angle of this product, I think the price is a huge barrier to entry and would definitely make me think twice about purchasing it again.
While on the topic of things I don’t love, let’s talk about the tube. It’s cardboard, which while sustainable and eco-friendly is kind of a nightmare to use. To dispense the balm, you have to press the bottom of the tube…not a huge deal until you have to put the lid back on. Then, you either have to touch the top of the balm to smoosh it back in the tube or jam the cap back over it and hope it pushes the balm back down. Also, the lid is friction fit only…it doesn’t snap or screw on, so I can see it coming off in a bag or pocket for sure. Other than those complaints, I think this is a very solid lip balm and a very admirable mission.

This lip balm comes in a cardboard tube. You have to push it up to use it. It’s easy to push up and mine has stayed pushed up without falling back into the tube. I actually tried pushing it back in and couldn’t.
It tube is super wide compared to a regular lip balm.
It smells like a household cleaner to me. I get spearmint, eucalyptus and lemon notes. It’s supposed to be black currant and balsam fir – I don’t get either at all.
The formula is more waxy than balmy. Leaves a bit of white cast on my lips.
I’m not a huge fan of the “clean” marketing. They tout that this is made without chemicals as if all chemicals are bad, as if cosmetic chemists haven’t spent years producing safe and effective skin care. This contains beeswax which is not vegan friendly and the harvesting process can use many chemicals, so take the marketing with a grain of salt.
The product does ok at hydrating my lips and protecting them, but at a high price point of $25 for a two pack, the emphasis on “clean” beauty, and the smell make this a product I wouldn’t purchase.

The lip balm is excellent. I have tried everything but, after extended use, it always end up requiring more and more use. Ursa Major doesn’t. It lasts. But the packaging is a cheap cardboard tube. For some reason that bothers me. Don’t let it bother you.

This is the best balm I’ve used to date and I’ve tried a lot of brands and types. I love the thick tube and that it’s not made of plastic. More importantly, I love that it lasts. Most balms I find I have to reapply constantly. Not this one! I don’t find the flavor or scent to be overpowering but clean and consistent with what I have come to love about Ursa Major.

The only thing I really like about this chap stick is the sizing. I love it is in a small yet thickly rounded tube. However, the smell is not good…which, I could get past if the product was decent but, it really isn’t all that great. Your lips do not feel all that moisturized after applying this stuff and you have to use a ton of it to feel like you even have any on. I wouldn’t recommend this stuff

So smooth and actually lasts. My favorite chapstick!
