I purchased this product while searching “eco friendly plastic free” chapstick.
After reading “We then wrap the balms in real wood instead of processed paper and present them in lovingly handcrafted reusable or recyclable displays.” And at first I took this to mean that the whole container would be wood and other recyclable/ sustainable materials.
I was disappointed to find out that this was not the case and it is in fact a plastic tube wrapped in wood, and while it CAN technically be recycled, it’s still a plastic (therefore still made in a polluting factory).
I’m knocking it down a star because after many many descriptions about how eco-friendly the product is, they fail to explicitly mention the use of plastics or where the plastic was sourced. Hindsight being 20/20 I now notice if you look closely you can see the plastic in the image, however I shouldn’t have to do an image analysis to determine if a product matches its description.
THAT BEING SAID
While the tube was a bit difficult to get open, the product inside is of VERY fine quality and met all expectations for performance. The unscented tube has a very light (but not unpleasant) natural beeswax smell, and I made it the whole day with only 2 applications. (I have to reapply Carmex about every 3 hours or so)
This chapstick actually absorbs and moisturizes my lips instead of sitting on top coating my lips like a greasy coat, which helps address the actual problem instead of just covering it up.
Great product itself but please update the description to include that it IS in fact, wood wrapped plastic instead of just glazing over that fact with eco-friendly cue words.
If it’s recycled plastic, bonus!

I’ve been buying this chapstick for years and love it. I keep one on my purse and one in my nightstand. My husband keeps one in his work truck and one at home, and our daughter has a rose scented one.
Even our dog likes it, apparently, cause he just chewed one of mine to bits. So.. keep it out of reach of pets.

The unscented original is amazing product. When my lips got dry and chapped, this was the only product that made difference and healed it! (I tried many lip balms, even very fancy/ expensive). This one works perfect every time (absolutely no weird flavor, no smell, truly unscented). Recently I tried the rose garden and I like it too (super delicate). The solar Eclipse is nice addition, it leaves little bit of white on the lips (I guess it’s the sun protection and I don’t mind because otherwise it’s perfect.

This seemed like a great product at first. I hate scented/flavored beauty products, so it was great, just pure beeswax that moisturized my lips well. Six months later, it suddenly started to smell like wet paint. I don’t know what that smell is from, but the only other thing I’ve experienced it from is stale bags of snack chips from the Asian grocer. Make of that what you will, but I’m done buying this product.

*disclaimer* I usually make my own, and needed something in a pinch, so I am ridiculously biased, FYI in advance.
I find myself reapplying more often than I would with my own. It’s not quite as soft as I prefer (a little too much wax) which would explain the need to reapply. Not enough product is absorbing into the skin. I also find coconut oil in general just doesn’t do much for my skin, but maybe that’s a personal chemistry / biology thing. It’s definitely a trendy skin care product right now.
As others have mentioned, the wood wrapper is awkward. You have to extend the lip balm up quite a bit from the rim in order to not feel the scratch of the label (or give yourself a splinter). I think the maker should consider paperboard instead of plastic, avoiding the need for the wood wrapper completely, with the same eco friendly vibe / goal (just advice from one balm maker to another).
I hope they read their product reviews and factor them in, in future! I love natural products and am super stoked to have found this.

My daughter is very sensitive to environmental stimuli. This is the only lip balm she requests over and over. It keeps her lips moisturized with only pure clean ingredients. I know if she asks for a product a second time it’s a keeper. It is very well priced. I would even buy this for husband, myself and others.

I loved the single tube so much I bought the 3-tube set immediately! Seriously, this is the only lip balm that actually moisturizes my dry lips. Been looking since last year since I discovered that Glycerin is another migraine trigger for me (along with the other Artificial Sweeteners like Sorbitol, Xylitol, Stevia, etc ~ freakin long list too now as I discover more including Dyes/Food Coloring). I’ve also got implanted dentures so my lips are dryer more than ever. This works awesome! It actually sinks into your lips instead of just staying like a glossy layer of film on my lips (like Sacred Shea Skincare Organic Shea Lip Balm ~ costly and does nothing to moisturize).
This has no scent (Yay!!) and no taste which I like & need cuz of the ingredients used to make others “taste good”. Why companies that are Organic use Sweeters which are NOT healthy for you, is beyond me.
The ONLY problem I had was with the Single Tube purchase because they put the UPC Code Sticker on the Tube which is now incredibly sticky from the glue residue left behind (1st pic). They should’ve just put the Sticker on the sealed bag it came in. So I’ll only buy it in the 3 Pack from now on (2nd pic). Definitely recommend this brand!!!

If you’e not used to beeswax lip balm it may feel a little thick at first. But now petroleum jelly based lip balms feel like they’ll melt off. It stays on for hours before you need to reapply.
Doesn’t taste like much. Don’t lick it expecting it to taste nice. The scent is subtle.
