This is a very thick cream so I am not putting it on my face because I don;t want to pull at my skin there. However I am finding that using on the back of my poor abused hands is really improving my hands. I have very thin dry skin that is getting abused by a whole lot of cleaning and home improvement and excess hand washing. This cream is really helping to create a barrier and help my skin heal while I am continuing with all the work I need to et done,

I like structure, how its smells and getting my face better

This Nightingale Damage Recovery Cepa Cica cream feels thicker and heavier than I expected, probably due to the shea butter in it, but the texture is very smooth and it absorbed quickly without leaving a residue. The cream is white in color and fragrance free. It feels soothing and it didn’t cause any skin irritation. It’s very moisturizing and contains squalane, sodium hyaluronate and hyaluronic acid. It’s made in Korea, and the tube dispenses well and comes sealed.

This moisturizing cream is rich and hydrating. It is a little greasy if applied heavily but absorbs pretty quickly. It’s great for sensitive skin. I had some redness and sensitivity due to a chemical serum I used that had acids in it and this cream didn’t sting or burn at all. It felt soothing and super soft. I like that it doesn’t pill or ball up and it makes my skin feel like silk. I don’t know if it will do anything more than hydrate my skin but I like that I have it on hand for times when my face needs a little TLC due to overuse of Retin A or acids. This would even feel good on a sunburn.

Because I have only been using the cream for a couple of weeks, I am rating 4 stars. I would like to see if it softens fine lines, firms, or does anything else besides sooth and hydrate (not that those two things aren’t awesome). It’s a very good cream for dry skin as well as for sensitive skin. It may be too heavy for those with oily skin however.

  5. Nitty’s Mom

I have sensitive, acne-prone skin, and unfortunately this cream broke me out when I used it on my face. I’ve been using it on scars and eczema on my body instead and it seems to be working well to soothe dry, itchy areas and fade old scars. It’s a nice light cream, moisturizing but not too oily and unscented. It’s full of botanical ingredients like allium (onion) extract that are proven to help the body repair scars, but also has lots of ingredients I don’t recognize, so I’m not sure exactly what caused me to break out. I’ll continue using it on my body, because it does a nice job of healing and protecting my eczema.

I never thought I would say this, but onion (Cepa), as a skincare ingredient, is surprisingly gentle, soothing, and healing. Assuming you are not sensitive or allergic to Allium Cepa (onion) extract or Centella Asiatica (related compounds), I highly recommend giving the Nightingale Damage Recovery Cepa-Cica line a try. Especially if you have sensitive or easily compromised skin.

Lucky for me, I had the opportunity to try two products from the Nightingale Damage Recovery Cepa-Cica line: their Cepa-Cica Cream and Cepa-Cica Ampoule. You don’t need to couple these with other items from the same line to glean the benefits. They seem to pair well with other elements in my routine. So separate or together, they are lovely products. They’re made in Korea under the ipse cosmetic co, ltd., umbrella.

The ampoule and cream are fragrance-free and suitable for all users.

For reference, I’m over 40 with sensitive, fair, acne-prone, combination skin. I am product-reactive prone, which means if something doesn’t suit me, I will almost immediately develop mild red freckling of Rosacea along the tops of my cheeks. This compromised reaction usually takes a few days to heal. During this, I strip my routine down to the basics: unmediated (non-active, non-exfoliating) washes, toners, moisturizer, and SPF.

I recently had this reaction to a toner I was trying, which had papain enzymes (exfoliants) that were just too much for me. After discontinuing use, I decided to treat my compromised skin with the Cepa-Cica Ampoule and Cream from Nightingale. To my delight, within a few short hours, the flush of the redness and most of the swelling was gone.

These do not contain “actives” like exfoliants (e.g., BHAs, AHAs, PHAs, acids, etc.) or high concentrations of vitamin C, A, or their respective derivatives. The Nightingale Cepa-Cica is a “damage recovery” line to heal and maintain the moisture barrier.

The Nightingale Cepa Cica Cream comes suitably packaged in a 1.69oz white polyplastic tube. Almost everything is in Korean, but they do have translated ingredients on the box. Highlights include the *Cepa (from red onions, first ingredient), followed by meadowfoam seed oil, squalane, shea butter, panthenol, three forms of hyaluronic acid, adenosine, and Centella Asiatica. Again, no added fragrances or colorants.

The cream dispenses in a medium-weight, odorless, white lotion that melts into the skin. It, too, does not leave me looking greasy or shiny and is very mild and hydrating. I take about a nickel-sized amount and spread it evenly across my face and neck at the end of my am and pm routine. During the day, I follow up with SPF.

Overall I like the use, efficacy, and affordability of these products. Based on this experience, I would likely try other items from the Nightingale brand.

This moisturizing recovery cream is suitable for those of us with Rosacea. It hydrated my skin and appeared to make my large pores smaller over a few days use. The cream is thick, however, it blends in quickly and does not leave any residual residue…..nor does it clog pores. It does an amazing job on cracked summer heels as well.

Nightingale Damage Recovery Cepa Cica Cream for Face, Skin Repair and Moisturizing Cream, Daily Use for Sensitive Skin, Korean Skincare Cosmetics, 50ml 1.69 fl. oz

Very moisturizing, unscented and soothing repair cream, wife is finding this to be a good addition to her routine, a thick bodied cream and absorbs readily, a little bit goes a long way. Excellent.

  9. Teethnclaws

this cream is really good for being just under $19. it’s not irritating and rich without the heaviness and it absorbs really well. it doesn’t feel greasy or oily and it soothes my skin pretty well. usually moisturizers around this price are really hit or miss but i usually have good luck with the korean beauty brand ones and this is no different. good quality that doesn’t kill your wallet. a little goes a long way so i usually dilute a pea sized amount with a mist or watery serum so i can spread it around easily. good for pm use and am too if you have drier skin. for reference my skin is slightly sensitive that’s between normal and combination skin, not acne prone, and starting to show signs of aging. recommend if you have a similar skin type to mine.
