It was a little hard getting used to putting this lotion on damp skin and judging how much to use. Too much leaves your skin feeling tacky. You really need very little rubbed between your hands and then applied That being said I love how it makes my skin feel. It has eliminated my dry flaky looking skin on my legs and I do not smell like chlorine. I will buy it again.

I wasn’t sure it would work at first but it actually makes your skin calmer and hydrated after swimming.

It goes on white but fades fast. It’s nice to have moisturizer on my skin after swimming as the chlorine really drys my skin.

My doctor has always told me to apply lotion immediately after showering, and before I towel off. This is the first time I’ve tried a lotion specifically designed to go on wet skin. Maybe all of them are and I’m just not too bright, but I thought I’d try this both for the wet skin application and to reduct hot-tub chlorine smell.
I checked the ingredients on EWG and the only red flag for me is Fragrance (Perfum). Fragrance is a big no-no because many of the over 3,000 chemical combinations are available for formulating fragrances have not been tested for safety. In addition, The American Academy of Dermatology reports that fragrance allergy is the number one cause of cosmetic contact dermatitis in the U.S. I have that problem too, so I usually avoid products that contain “Fragrance”.
Okay, rant over. Luckily the fragrance did not give me the usual headache or cause skin irritation, so I will be able to use the lotion. It goes on rather light and absorbs easily. The price is reasonable given the quality of the ingredients.
For me this is a 4 star product, and a fragrance free version would be an easy 5 stars. Recommended, especially if you’re not bothered by fragrances.

I use this 2x/week after swim. While it takes off the chlorine smell, it is very thick. It come out of the tube like liquid and spills everywhere in my bag. But it goes on thick and it hard to remove later in the day.

A few friends were recently extolling the virtue of wet-skin moisturizers, so I gave this a shot. My favorite thing about it is the scent. It smells so yummy! I am noticing that my skin is much less ashy after bathing when I use this. It isn’t as thickly moisturizing as other products I have, but application is so quick and easy that I am completely sold. You just slather it on while you are still in the shower, (water turned off,) and then towel dry as usual. Nothing could be simpler. 🙂

I know this will be more effective used wet, but I use a special microfibre towel after swimming and you can’t use fabric conditioner with it. Fabric conditioner is greasy as this will be too, so will reduce the effectiveness of the towel I use.
I have tested the cream out at home and yes it will be better used on wet skin, but I don’t want to ruin my towel, so I will be using this dry. I still like the consistency and the softness of my skin afterwards. I like the aroma and like all the Aqua Guard products I have used so far. I simply love the conditioner, no greasy residue on my hair afterwards and great at getting rid of the Chlorine smell.
I used to use Boots own brand, but they stopped doing it and haven’t tried any other Chlorine reducing toiletries since, these are very expensive, but swimming every day really does strip the skin and hair of its natural shine, etc. Given that I spend so little on myself, clothes and make up wise, swimming being my only really pleasure in life, I suppose that for me this could be the luxury I allow myself.
Some of the aqua guard products are a lot cheaper if you buy a double pack. At the time of writing this listing, it is the same price whether you buy a single or a double. Hopefully, that might change in which case if you buy a single the first time and like it buying a double pack might be beneficial next time.
Happy to recommend, if you have the budget to run to this price.
