    This shea butter is a bit grainier than others, although if you massage it in your hands for a bit to warm it up, most of the graininess goes away and you are left with a nice smooth butter that you can apply anywhere. I use it on my hands arms and elbows.

    I definitely recommend buying in block over jar. The jar came partially open due to melting and heat. Which also made a greasy mess.

    I love the block. You pull off what you need and store the rest. Already adding more products from this company in my cart. I have psoriasis and meds are not working nurse told me to try this. So I made a body butter. Love it.

    This comes as a giant block of 100% refined shea butter packaged in a plastic bag that is inside a pouch bag that can be ziplocked. It can be used as is, but I am using it to craft different skin and hair products and it works well for that. It is easy to work with and is naturally soft (softness will also depend on the temperature) and does not have a scent.

    The quality is good and consistent so I don’t have any complaints.

    My goal when I ordered this was to use goat milk with the Shae butter to make lotions and soaps. But, I got ahead of myself because my girls are still a couple months away from giving birth.

    So, since I’m sure the seller doesn’t want me to wait that long to provide a review, I found a simple body butter recipe online. It was the perfect starter recipe, just Shae butter, a carrier oil, and essential oil.

    Y’all, I should have tried Shae butter years ago. We lived in a very dry area for a few years and no matter which body lotion I bought at the store, my skin was still dry. That wouldn’t have been the case had I been using this Shae butter.

    Anyway, now that I’ve made my first item, I’m very excited to try lip balm next.

    PS I haven’t had an issue with graininess like another reviewer. I did google it, though, to make sure the Shae butter wasn’t ruined. Apparently, the graininess has something to do with how fast the butter cooled. And, to fix it, you can either whip it or put it in the fridge until the whole thing is solid.

    This arrived from the vendor in a branded sealed pouch like you’d get coffee beans in that had a resealable zip lock top.

    This had no added smell, was very fresh, very smooth.

    You cut or slice or can just pull off the main “block” what you need to work with.

    As a soap, a small piece is all you need — and it makes a nice shampoo that cleans throughly but doesn’t dry out your scalp or other parts of your body it touches.

    It melts easily to mix in with other ingredients in your recipe, if you are mixing it to make something like a cream.

    We did make a quick small portion of body butter which is helpful to help our skin conditions, & this product was great.

    This is a keeper, we would order it again.
