I use this to make my homemade hair products shelf stable and add to the life of the products. It preserves flaxseed gel, okra gel, and my homemade serums and conditioners which contain water and oils.
It smells like nothing to me which is great. Some people mentioned an unpleasant scent but I can’t relate and I find it to be an amazing product.

Works well

This is my go to preservative for my lotions and body washes. I have purchased it several times and will continue to do so!

It’s a great preservative I give it 5 stars because I don’t want to be unfair to the seller but it doesn’t have any instructions on how to use it! If you choose to buy this product you gonna have to spend more time to figure it out. As soon as I find another great preservative I won’t buy this anymore. I need to be sure that I put the right amount in my products

This works well. I’m switching to a safer more natural preservative but I will say this worked for everything I used it for. Preserved, scrubs, lotions, hair products, food used for body products. It preserved it all!! Flaxseed is one of the hardest food items to preserve but this preserved it without any additional preservatives. However, one downside is the smell. It doesn’t smell bad at all but it’s scent is always left in the final product. I don’t use fragrances only EO for scent and they can’t fight with this. So keep that in mind.

The customer service at the company is exemplary. While I had received the bottle with a tiny leak. It was not the issue. I had thought the label contained information I was looking for (i.e. how much to use). I asked the company for a copy of the label and not only did I get a copy of the label but excellent information as to its usage. Customer service is absolutely great. As soon as I mix my next batch I certainly will use their product, over and over.

I purchased this product in an effort to preserve lotions and balms I am making this year for Christmas presents. I have made lotions and balms before without this product, however, after reading about bacteria and mold that can settle into your product – this was a must have, especially if you are incorporating a water product into your lotion. I wanted to add green tea into an eye cream (recipe below) because of it’s truly remarkable healing qualities.
1. The product has a light scent, nothing that will affect the smell of your product.
2. It is an oil like consistency, which while mixed in with butters and oils blended fine – it also blended in well to my eye cream containing water. I mixed the phenonip in with my oils versus in with my water product. The trick to getting oil and water to blend is to ensure they are heated to the temperature.
3. The package does say usage is 1% to 3%, which means that you have to weigh your product and do math! OH NO here is an example: Multiply the weight of your product by the usage rate percentage, and divide that number by 100. So, if your concoction weighs 50g and the usage rate is 2.5%, that would be 50 × 2.5 = 125. 125 ÷ 100 = 1.25. That means you should add 1.25g phenonip to your concoction
Green Tea Eye Cream
1/4 cup Green Tea
1/8 tsp Phenonip (had to get the hubby to help with the math on this one)
1 tbsp Rosehip Oil
1 tbsp Sweet Almond Oil
1/4 tsp Vitamin E
1 tsp Beeswax
1 drop Carrot Seed Oil
3 drops Chamomile Essential Oil
1. Brew a cup of green tea
2. Fill 2 saucepans with water (double boiler style) and place over low heat
3. Add beeswax, sweet almond oil, rosehip oil, phenonip and Vitamin E to a metal/glass bowl and place over pan 1
4. Add green tea to metal/glass bowl and place over pan 2
5. Heat both mixtures until wax has melted, ensure both mixture temperatures reach 130 degrees (if not the cream will not set).
6. Pour green tea into oil mixture and blend with hand or stick blender until mixture becomes thick and creamy.
7. Place into containers and enjoy
I highly recommend this product for all of the reasons listed above.

I have ordered this a few times.
They changed the packaging, but something else changed too.
It smells super strong, and chemical.
It’s so strong, it changed the smell of my cream…..not okay 🙁
