Smells good too, I took off one star because it’s made in turkey and that was not evident when I bought it. Aleppo soap should be made in Aleppo.

The bars are big. Double the size of a regular bar of soap. These are dark brown to amber on the outside. To me that is a good sign of aging it properly. I like that it is not harsh and doesn’t dry out my skin. It lasts a long time and you can use it on your hair, too! I like the natural, not flowery, scent, but it doesn’t really linger on your skin. It lathers very well and I have hard water. My only complaint is not being able to buy a larger package so I could save a little money. Also no plastic bottles, no animal products! Just a great all-in-one soap!

If you’ve been using other “modern” moisturizing soap, give this a try. 20% laurel oil. It’s a simple castile soap and pleasant smelling.

I’d never tried Aleppo soap before but I’ve always been a fan of quality vegetable soaps.
The soap has a pleasantly woody/smoky scent. This is really nice if, like me, you aren’t a huge fan of floral/perfume scents. The bars are quite large and you will want to cut them into 2-3 pieces to use in the sink or bath.
The soap itself is quite hard as it’s been dried for months but it lathers beautifully and rinses clean. The soap cleans really well without drying.
The package says it’s made in Turkey, not Syria (this wasn’t a dealbreaker for me either way but I just though I’d put that out there in case anyone was worried about it).

I like the soap but the description is incorrect. Each piece is 6-7oz. Mostly about 6.5oz.

I have lots of them. But I will only use this heavenly soap from now
on because it is truly heavenly. Like it was made in heaven.
I may well be, for me it is now the only soap it is so lovely no other soap is worthy to be called soap anymore. I guess that is why it has been made the same way for centuries.
It has no competition whatsoever.
