Lanolin is the only thing that truly makes a difference on the dry cracking skin on my hands. I’ve used several jars of this and it is reasonably priced and does a great job. I rarely have a crack in one of my fingers now and they used to be way too common. I rub it into my hands every night and put on white gloves to give it a chance to work and not rub off on the bed sheets. I purchased lots of pairs of white gloves so I can wear a clean pair every night. Otherwise, they get saturated and still get oily residue on the bed. Lanolin is greasy but it soaks in well if you wear gloves and give it a chance to absorb. I highly recommend this product.

My daughter was having an extremely bad diaper rash due to a sensitivity in my diet from breastfeeding as we were resolving that we had to wait for the acidity in her poop to go down and something that would allow her bottom to heal from blistering. We needed a good barrier that was natural and healing. This worked better than desitin and Vaseline. We got desitin because we were desperate for something that would help her bottom heel however after reading the ingredients knowing it would be bad ..We were rather mortified that we were putting petroleum products and talc on our baby and they have added fragrance. But we needed a barrier and something that had zinc in it. Zinc is great for healing and there are other products that we can use that have the zinc in it but for barrier that was natural we chose this.. We would use something was thinking it and alternate it with this if needed. And I did not want to use petroleum, or talk or fragrance or some other added ingredients. So we needed something that acted just like Vaseline without being a petroleum byproduct. I was using my nipple cream for a barrier But even that wasn’t thick enough for my liking the purple tube is mixed with something so that it is much more appliable to store nipples but is not super thick for diaper cream. This tub was very thick and worked great I used it after we would dry her off with every diaper change until her diaper rash cleared up. It does not have a strong lanilon smell although I love the smell of lanolin. So long story short this product is great It is thick a little bit goes a long way it’ll stay on her bottom until it has wiped off between diaper changes. Helps her a lot at night If we’re not catching her diaper change right away. This creates a great barrier creates great moisture is lasting for longer than any other product that I’ve gotten for diaper rash on the shelf. We use this at night with a disposable diaper now for routine care for her bottom. Just remember that this is not cloth diaper safe this will waterproof any cloth that it is applied to. So it is great as a diaper cream and great if you’re using it with a disposable diaper but this is not something that you use for cloth diapering mamas unless you are trying to waterproof something it will ruin the absorbency. This also works as a nipple cream You just need to allow it to get warm between your fingers before applying It is safe for ingestion for infants. It’s also great as a lip balm and other chapped areas..

Great value and better for skin compared to aquaphor or other artificial petrol based ointments.
Lanolin mixed with petrolatum(vaseline)/oils and other oil based/oil soluable ingredients such as antioxidants make fot a great ointment for dry skin because of the penetrating properties of lanolin due to it being so similar to our skin oil.
Lanolin alone is fine too but it’s hard to spread due to it being the consistancy of thick earwax so I would recommend you use other oils to smooth out the texture. BUT BE CAREFUL. By mixing it with other oils you may cause it to lose its “semi occlusive” property which moisturizes the skin but does not create a full barrier that blocks the skin from breathing. Other oils occlude (block by forming a barrier) the skin fully and thus are occlusive, which can be good for locking in moisturizing treatments or allowing vitamins and antioxidants to penetrate but can be terrible for acne and possibly causing skin infections if you have a weak immune system.
The product itself is a good yellow color, smells faintly of sheep but you would never tell the smell unless you specifically smelled the tub and it’s sticky and very thick as said before.
All in all some good quality lanolin. I mix it with olive oil and my oil based treatments for daily use.

I bought this product to soothe sore nipples during breastfeeding. Much cheaper than nipple cream but with same effect. Great product.

My household is literally never, ever, without a tub or bottle of this lanolin. This brand, specifically. I’ve tried others, including lansinoh, and this remains my favourite. The price is unbeatable, it’s pure, it works. We use it for lanolising wool cloth nappy covers and wool nappy pants. It’s amazing for dry skin. I have had an annoying flaky dry skin patch in-between my eyebrows for months now. I tried everything to clear it up, fancy creams and washes, as well as homemade remedies. Literally nothing worked. I finally tried the lanolin on it, it is now significantly better. It is also magic as nappy rash cream. My baby has super sensitive skin that gets dried out very easily, this keeps her skin from getting too dry and rashy. It’s also helped with her cradle cap, keeps her head moisturised to where it doesn’t come back as much after I manage to get it cleared up. It’s also a perfect salve for cuts and scrapes and minor burns. And good for cheeks and lips as a barrier outside in frigid temperatures. I put it around my six year olds nose when he’s had a cold and rubbed his skin raw from blowing and wiping too hard.
It does smell a bit sheep-y, but I happen to love the smell. I grew up on a farm, so it makes me happy tbh. Once it’s applied the smell fades anyways. It’s thick, and sticky, but spreads well once warmed. And deeply nourishes the skin. I use it on my face and lips at bedtime. After reading other reviews, I’m planning to add it to my next batch of whipped body butter, too!

Pleased with my order. I use lanolin with drops of Vitamin E to make the best hand/foot mixture ever. I suggest everyone give it a try and then you will know exactly what you are using. Have you ever actually read the ingredients on you hand/body lotion? Maybe you should then you will go to this 100% pure remedy.
