    While I love most Burt’s Bees facial products, I don’t have a much luck with their lotions and creams, save for one. Most of them feel too tacky or sticky for me, like you would expect from a more natural product, or I just didn’t care for the smell. I do love and use Burt’s Bees Cocoa Butter and Macadamia Nut Butter cream, which has been a Godsend on my dry, itchy skin.

    Even though I love the Cocoa/Macadamia product, it’s a bit inconvenient to me with having to scoop cream out of the jar just to moisturize my hands, not to mention when I need something for when I’m out of the house. I also work from home and type all day, and since it takes a little while to absorb naturally, it’s not always convenient in this sense either. So, I pretty much only put it on after I shower, but I wanted something light and quick-absorbing for when I need to wash my hands, etc. throughout the day and especially for when summer hits.

    I found this Cocoa and Capuacu lotion just recently and, so far, I’m really pleased with the results. It’s not greasy or sticky and it absorbs quickly – pretty much like your average store-bought brands. It’s also light and has so far softened my skin, which is another bonus.

    I do like the smell and it’s mellow after it dries, but I wouldn’t say it’s as vanilla-like as the product claims – at least to me. Then again, I’m learning that everyone’s sense of smell differs, so I would say to give it a try. I know that I’ve tried some other BB products that people claimed smelled like heaven, only to think that it smelled a bit like rancid milk later. So, you never know! It’s not my favorite scent right out of the tube, though it’s not unpleasant. All in all, I think it smells good and natural once dried and I’ve even had a few compliments in the last few days since wearing.

    It doesn’t last me 24 hours as the product claims either, but we’re also in the middle of a dry winter with Santa Ana winds in full force off and on as well, so it’s hard to say how it would be on a normal basis. However, I have no problem putting more on and actually enjoy doing so, even while I’m working.

    I love the fact that it’s 99% natural and the price is great too, especially on Amazon when compared to the actual website. You don’t need a lot, as with most BB, but even excessive amounts seem to absorb well, which I love. I can see that the tubes will last for a good while.

    I’m certainly happy and my hands are, too.

    I have dry skin especially during the winter months and have found this to be a pure joy for my skin! The purity of the product was my #1 reason for trying. No Parabens nor harmful chemicals, which is a must for me. It has a pleasant smell and lasts a long time. I like being able to “Subscribe and Save” on this product.

    I love this lotion – it truly does moisturize longer than others, yet does not have a greasy feel. The one thing I’ve consistently noticed is that the larger, less expensive pump bottle of it Burt’s Bees Richly Replenishing Cocoa and Cupuacu Butter Body Lotion, 12 Ounce doesn’t smell as good as this smaller squeeze tube type bottle. Burt’s Bees Body Lotion, Cocoa And Cupuacu Butters, 6-Ounce (Pack of 2) In addition, once the larger pump bottle is down to the last inch and a half or so, it won’t pump out anymore. So it is worth it to buy these smaller ones instead…

    Smell: I love the cocoa smell – it is fresh yet not overpowering or artificial smelling like many others. However, if you decide to buy it in the larger, less expensive pump bottle, the smell seems “faded” (for lack of a better word…). You can barely smell it at all till the bottle is close to 1/2 way empty, then the smell seems to increase. Since you are lucky to get about 25-30% of the last half of the bottle, this is a real bummer, as only a small amount that you use seems to carry the scent. With these smaller 6 oz tube style bottles the smell is consistent, and it is easy to squeeze out the last drops of lotion (same way as you’d do with toothpaste tubes/bottles.)

    Cost: I’ve bought the larger bottle 3-4x now, because it is much cheaper at $9 for 12 oz pump bottle vs. $16 for two of the 6 oz bottles. However, the larger bottles have all not smelled right. The first time I thought perhaps the lotion was old, maybe just sitting around a long time, and so lost it’s scent. However, the subsequent bottles have all been exactly the same. Mysteriously, the lotion in the 6 oz bottles have never had this problem. So, while more expensive, I’m having to go with the 2 pack of 6 oz bottles instead.

    If you like this lotion, or want to try it out, absolutely go with the smaller 6 oz bottles.

    I bought this on a whim at a beauty supply store and I SMELLED ALL the different flavors of Burt’s bees lotions before deciding to purchase. I am very picky about smells and how it lingers through out the day. The “Cocoa” was the best honestly (cocoa + vanilla spectrum) and thought it was quite pleasant (2nd was the honey/milk but it smelled WAY TOO sweet for my taste, and there was another one that was hard almost horrible to take!! cannot remember which one was it).

    The lotion performs fairly well, I like that it gets absorbed very well and no greasy feeling whatsoever. Makes a great hand lotion.
    For example: You could put this on hands, rubbed and almost immediately start typing on computer. That’s a BIG plus.

    HOWEVER, THE SMELL IS WAY TOO STRONG!!! I wanted to keep using it but the smell stays on the rest of the day for my liking. I did laundry and I could still detect the smell lingering on my clothes even after a few days. If you wear perfume this would clash with it. Maybe is good for those who prefer their scents coming from lotions only.

    I am not crazy about the smell; but this is a great product. Works really well – plan to buy more; just wish other fragrances were available.
