This PURA D’OR 4 Oz Organic Maracuja Oil works on both my skin and hair. Maracuja is also called passion fruit which I really like as a beverage, so I was surprised to see the oil, and excited to try it. I really like the smell of this oil. It is easy to apply and is nice and lightweight. I don’t use many oils on my face but this works on my face without making it greasy. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated. I apply it sparingly to my scalp daily and it doesn’t weigh down my hair. I especially like that this has the USDA Organic stamp on it.

This is a versatile, high quality oil that works very well on hair and is also nice on dry skin. I ordered it for my teen-aged granddaughter as she is a big fan of the PURA D’OR shampoo and conditioner with argon oil. She has thick curly mop of hair that she spends a lot of time trying to straighten and it tends to get a bit frizzy. She likes to use a light application of oil to keep her hair more manageable, and is always looking to try a new one. I thought she would like this one. She really likes the consistency of this maracuja oil — it isn’t too light and watery like some oils, but neither is it too thick and heavy where it might weigh down her hair or look greasy. This leaves her hair soft and smooth and gives it a nice shine with no oily look or feel.
My granddaughter doesn’t have much use for a body or facial oil, but I was interested to see that this passionfruit oil is also good for skin and can be used as a massage oil, too. Just for the purposes of review, I tried this on my very dry and rough hands and elbows and it was absorbed into my skin fairly quickly and didn’t feel greasy or sticky. Some seed oils have a strong nutty or earthy fragrance, but I don’t notice much of a scent at all. Maybe just a hint of sweetness. After several applications over the course of the day, my skin did feel softer and more supple and my nails looked great. So, I would definitely be happy to use this on areas of dry skin. I also tried it as a facial oil, but it doesn’t work for me as well in that regard. I have very dry, sensitive skin, and although this oil feels light, it just doesn’t sink in. Just a little is absorbed and the rest just seems to stay on the surface of my skin. So, I give it some time and end up washing it off after an hour or so. It does work ok if I put a drop or so into a serum before applying. But I already have several facial oils that do work well for me, so this oil isn’t something I need for myself.
My granddaughter is very happy to add this to her collection of hair care products from this brand and the price seems very reasonable. The oil is housed in a heavy bottle made of amber glass with a pump-style delivery system which my granddaughter prefers to oils packaged with droppers. There I no leaking or mess and it is easy to dispense just the right amount of oil. The product wrapped and sealed in a plastic sheath.

This oil feels really good on my face after a shower. Just a couple of drops is all I need. It’s not greasy, and it does not make my face look shiny. I don’t detect any fragrance, which is just the way I like it.

My skin gets extremely dry during winter so I decided to give this product a try. Happy to report that it solved my dry skin issues. It is non greasy and fragrance free. A little goes a long way so use sparingly.
