I loved the quantity of this tub. I’ve only come across small amounts while shopping in person, and this big tub was great for a larger household. I’ve tried it on bug bites mixed with a bit of water, and even though I was skeptical, it did stop the itching for a while. I primarily use it mixed with my off the shelf toothpaste. I find the clay addition seems to scrub my teeth a little better. They are smooth when finished, and it hasn’t caused any sensitivity to gums or enamel like previous toothpastes have.

Great mask and easy to use but make sure you hydrate after, as it can be a bit drying. Great for oily skin or to dry out bumps/comedones etc.

I ordered this in the hopes that it might be a little easier on my sensitive skin than the other powdered clay mask I’ve been using. It isn’t, but it also isn’t any worse. It works pretty much the same. I started using bentonite clay masks years ago, not realizing that they could irritate sensitive skin. I also used to follow the recommendation of mixing the clay with ACV for better results. All of that resulted in painful breakouts and severely dry, irritated skin. I learned to just mix the clay with water and apply a very light layer instead of the thick, pasty layer I was used to. It dries quicker and doesn’t have to stay on my face nearly as long. As long as I don’t use the masks too often, it’s a nice way to get an occasional deep clean for my skin. One thing I will note about this product is the current price point. As it stands, this is the same amount of product as the trusted brand that I’ve been using for years. At a higher price per pound, I would only consider repurchasing this particular clay if I found it on sale.

did a patch test on my inner forearm and got a rash and irritation. also, this has a p65 warning which I wasn’t aware of initially (my fault), so we won’t be using this brand or product anymore.

I got this Nutricost Essentials Bentonite Clay (1 LB) – Rejuvenating Clay Mask for my oldest teen daughter and feel like a fool for not noticing the P65 warning lead among other chemicals until after she used it once. I know the P65 warning can be overzealous at times but it is still alarming and especially so with the reaction she had after application. Had I seen that, I wouldn’t have even got it. I am not super familiar with facial clay products so I didn’t know that would even be something to look out for but apparently is fairly common to have the warning on Bentonite clay products. I suppose the only saving grace is they actually put the warning on the label for the consumer to decide. I do appreciate that.
She said it was mostly easy to apply but not as good as some other products she’s had. At first, everything seemed fine but after a short period of time, it began to itch and she broke out in a facial rash. She has normal to oily skin and just a tad on the sensitive side. This is the first time she has reacted to any facial or skin product. Until I understand these Bentonite clay products more, I won’t be getting anymore for my daughter.

This is a HUGE tub of very fine clay powder for DIY home face masks. It’s super easy to use, and the tub is so big it will last forever. My only issue is that it was almost too drying for me, for my sensitive-combo skin. I tend to forget and leave masks on too long while in the bath, and when I did that with this one it made my skin a little sensitive and dry after. I do think it would work great as a detox body mask, so I might try that next time instead. Since my non-facial skin is probably less sensitive. If your skin is less easily irritated, you will probably love this. But if you have any kind of sensitivities, be aware it might be too strong and too drying for you.
