I was worried this would taste fishy, but it doesn’t even smell fishy. I didn’t like it at all mixed with water, there’s just something unpleasant about a watery chocolate drink. I mixed it with milk instead, and it just tastes like chocolate milk. It dissolved easily with a milk frother, it would be fine in a shaker bottle too. It’s a little pricier than my normal collagen, but I usually buy bovine collagen so I understand this will be more. It seems like a pretty good value. My one really big dislike – the scoop is way too long for the jar. I really needed to fight with it to get it back in there.

I generally am nervous about trying new tastes when it comes to food – not sure why. One of the previous marine collagens I had tried smelled “fishy” so I left that one to my husband to taste. But this one does not taste fishy at all, and it smells good too.
I am appreciative of the fact that this collagen is sweetened with stevia; however I had to add some additional sweetener to get the sweetness factor I wanted. I made a frozen coffee blended drink: some chocolate almond milk, concentrated coffee, sweetener, this collagen and ice, well blended in my one-person blender. It really turned out nice, and where my previous coffee drinks are very icy, this is more cold and smooth, with a bit of creaminess. I should mention that this is a light chocolate, not a hard, heavy cocoa-flavored chocolate. You can tell that because I used chocolate almond milk to make it with and even then it wasn’t too strongly chocolate.

The Nutricost Marine Collagen (Chocolate Flavor) is collagen from wild-caught Pacific cod but doesn’t have any fishy smell or taste. It has 10g of protein and only 2g of carbs. It is a 30-serving tub. I mixed this with my chocolate whey protein and milk, and it tastes great. It mixed well and didn’t clump up. It is sweetened with stevia, but it didn’t have that overall sweet taste. It comes with a scoop, but the scoop handle is too large and makes it difficult to put in the tub unless you cut the handle in half with scissors. Overall, happy with it.

I eat cod with no problem but I do get the burps from fish oil supplements. Didn’t imagine that would be an issue here.
But…not only did I get some burping shortly after drinking this, my stomach felt a touch irritated and that’s not something I normally have an issue with eating anything. And this was on half a scoop.
The taste was fine. It mixed well which I was a little concerned with because it felt a bit gritty compared to other collagens.
Speaking of comparisons. The amount of collagen was half of another brand I’ve used and the total number of servings was also half. So unless you really need to go with wild cod, might look elsewhere first.

First time to try a flavored collagen supplement. I usually use the unflavored ones but this one didn’t disappoint. The taste is not bad and it’s easy to consume.
I sometimes take it by itself and sometimes mix it with whey protein. I use a frother for all powdered supplements and this one mixes easily with it.

I am a fan of Nutricost’s Whey Protein Isolate, so when this collagen came up in my RFY, I decided to try it. And it is actually much, much better than I expected! I have tried another collagen powder, and it was a little gritty. This one dissolves completely! No grit, no texture at all, when I mix it with milk it just tastes like chocolate milk! That may be because it is made with real cocoa, not a fake chocolate. It is sweetened with stevia, but there’s no weird aftertaste.
I can’t recommend this enough, it is really good! I will definitely buy again.

I’ve done some research and decided that supplementing my diet with a collagen supplement powder was something that I wanted to try. I have tried over the counter capsules and liquids but honestly couldn’t get past the taste or smell of them. Just thinking about how marine collagen is acquired from fish is enough to turn my stomach LOL!
So , I got brave and gave this nutricost brand chocolate flavored marine powder a try.
I’m impressed ! I’ve mixed the chocolate marine supplement powder with some unsweetened almond milk, ice cubes and a bit more cocoa in my blender cup.
It’s good!!!!!! Definitely drinkable !

This is made from wild caught Pacific cod . ( not dwelling on that thought at all )
This is pretty low calorie . 45 calories per serving . Blended with my almond milk this was under 100 calories .

This is definitely do able for me ! I’m excited to be able to get that extra collagen in my body .
The cost is reasonable . This tub should last a month with daily use .
