Overview: I’ve purchased many Double Wood supplements and they all consistently deliver. The bottle came sealed in a clearly labeled bottle. The bottle includes all the standard information including supplement facts, manufacturing information and disclaimers.
The capsules are clear with whitish powder inside and the dehydrator pack inside the bottle will keep the capsules dry and avoid humidity from affecting stability. No aftertaste or smell was noticeable when taking my first few servings.
Final Thoughts: Overall, I can’t back up claims of longevity or healthy aging that the supplement offers, but the quality is consistent, and the research was compelling for this supplement enough to warrant the price.

Got to keep your Telomeres healthy and this is a great natural way to accomplish that. The caps are small to supply the 30mg needed. Double woods is a great company that seldom makes mistakes but the description on this page is in error. It states: “TWO MONTH SUPPLY: Each bottle contains a one month supply of 500mg servings (serving size is 2 capsules and each capsule is 250mg)” whereas the bottle says one 30mg capsule per day. This is a 60 day supply.

As I age, I am thinking more and more about my telomeres. They shorten as we age (and each time our cells divide) and play a major role in aging. I have recently started taking telomere supporting supplements in order prevent shortening or, at a minimum, slow it down. This supplement is very easy to use, it’s just one tiny capsule, once daily. They are easy to swallow because of their small size. There are 60 capsules in the bottle and the price is great.

Ergothioneine, or EGT, has been shown to help preserve Telomeres, the protective cap on the end of DNA strands. Mushrooms seem to be the most common natural source of EGT, so if food mushrooms are part of your daily diet, you might not need this supplement. For the rest of us, this Double Wood supplement can provide an easy source of EGT. The product is nicely packaged, uniform and without odor. The label does not specify where it is made, so it is probably sourced overseas. However, the listing detail claims it was manufactured and lab tested in the USA. I’m not sure why it is not mentioned on the label. I’ve deducted one star due to the uncertain origin and lab testing status.

I have been aware of ergothioneine for a while now, I’ve tried to ensure I was taking enough in through diet alone – as I get up there in years it is clear I need to not just try.
These ergothioneine capsules are a great source. The bottle is safety sealed, packed with cotton, and a desiccant is included as well. The capsules are small – the dose is 2 a day. They arrived quickly with an expiration date 2 years out. They have no odor and no after taste.
I can’t say enough about ergothioneine, there are a bunch of studies at Pub Med supporting its importance in our diet.

Ergothioneine is probably one of the least known anti-oxidents and that is due to its origin, not its efficacy. This is a product that I look forward to using going forward. Reasonably priced.
