I had high hopes for this product but the taste is had to take. I still have most of the product because I can’t get myself to drink it. I’m so sorry that I wasted my money on this product.

I’m not a fan of one star reviews, but the other products that are available in this segment are so much better that I feel that the rating is warranted. I’ve found benefit from the various ketone supplements that have come available over the past few years so I try the new ones when they become available. I bought the Raspberry Lemonade Ketostart without realizing that it only has 10 packets per box. This makes it the most expensive Ketone drink available on Amazon (per drink). Strike One. When I did try it, there’s nothing Raspberry or Lemonade about this drink, it overwhelmingly tastes like coconut, a slightly funky coconut. I thought the first packet could have been bad, so I tried the next one, funky coconut. All of them taste like funky coconut. Strike two. The last thing is mostly subjective but, on the label it shows that it has 12g total of ketones, plus a number of supplements which aren’t needed. After I drink most ketone supplements I perceive a increased level of awareness. With this stuff, nothing. Strike three.
It’s silly expensive, tastes nothing like what they advertised, and doesn’t contain anything that’s needed for a ketone drink and I’ve never perceived the ketone effects after drinking it.

I have been on a whole food ketogenic diet and taking exogenous ketone supplements for about six years. Since I write books and speak about ketones, I like to try out new ketone supplement products as they come on the market. So, I have tried many different brands of ketone salts. There is a variety of products available now in a range of prices, flavors, and the amount of the ketone betahydroxybutyrate in a “serving”. What I look for in a quality ketone salts product is how much betahydroxybutyrate (BHB) is in the serving, the cost per gram of BHB, whether there is a balance of mineral salts in the formulation, how it is sweetened, whether there are artificial ingredients, and, of course, the taste. KetoStart passes on all counts with flying colors! Many other ketone salts products contain only sodium or high levels of potassium, but KetoStart contains a balance of sodium, calcium, potassium, and magnesium that helps meet daily recommended intakes of each mineral. There is no sugar, gluten, or artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. The product is available with or without caffeine. I drink the caffeine-free Tropical flavor, which I find smooth and not overpowering or overly sweet (it is sweetened with Monk fruit). I first tried Keto Start in May 2022 and it has been one of my go-to supplements ever since. I take it in the late afternoon and find it suppresses my appetite for several hours, which helps me better control my daily food intake. I am happy to see it on Amazon now and at a great price!

This product is what it says it is and does what it says it does. I get a really good ketone boost.
But that price, tho. Ouch. I guess you get what you pay for. I’ll buy it again.
And I have bought it again. And again. But… I would buy more of it if there were an unsweetened version. Every sip is like getting punched in the face with SWEET. I bought it a second and third time through my company, and each batch seems sweeter than the last. This last batch is really over the top.

I ordered the no caffeine version and it’s so terribly sweet. I gave it to my husband. I am on ketosis and avoid anything that reminds me of sugar. I don’t care if it spikes insulin or not, the fact that it reminds me of sweets when it was so hard to get rid of all those foods I loved is not a good thing. This is like having syrup. Second, it’s way too expensive for only 10 sachets (one box is $50, so are you saying we need to invest $150/month? It doesn’t seem right). And last, while I love Prof. Dominic D’Agostino…I feel he now pushes this brand too much when interviewed. I know it’s his wife’s company but at the very least he should mention it when he recommends this brand. “My wife launched Keto Start and even though she is my wife and I am totally biased, I truly believe these are the best Ketone salts out there” (something like that). But please, if the company is reading: could you please formulate a non sweetened version? It would be a hit.

I sometimes do straight keto, but I am also usually doing high-protein with weightlifting. This means I need a lot of protein, but also (traditionally) carbs to go along with it for energy. It’s a big challenge for me to get decent carbs (along with the protein) without going over my daily caloric intake and putting on fat.
So KetoStart is a great pre-workout option to get that energy in a convenient form. Tastewise, it’s much better than the usual chalky tasting electrolyte powers. I got the raspberry-lemonade flavor, and it does taste like real lemonade, not enhanced water. So basically you get the clean energy, electrolytes, and other benefits in one package.
