It is non-gmo, and when combined with NADH, CoQ10, Acetyl-L-Carnitine, Magnesium malate it creates energy. It is useful in Fibromyalgia, and Lyme disease treatment.

Since I’ve started taking this daily, I’ve noticed my muscles ache significantly less after an intense workout. My legs used to kill me after doing Legs & Back from P90X, but not any more. As far as the taste goes, D-Ribose is a type of sugar. It does have its own unique smell to it, but I wouldn’t call it a bad smell.

I was advised by a fellow ME/CFS patient to try this brand of Ribose- she said it’s the best. Well I have tried this, as well as other costly little jars, like NutriHealth D-Ribose Gold, Now Sports, and two cheap options that come in a ziploc, off amazon, Bulk Supplements and WellBody Naturals. I’d do one for a week, then another, then switch back, skip a dose, whatever… all the while keeping a detailed journal (as a project for my specialist) of my activity and energy levels, how much/well I slept, my heartrate. I would feel about 10% more zippy if I took ribose, no big miracle but totally enough benefit to be certain there is a benefit (which is more than I can say for most supplements I try) but the brand didn’t seem to change the experience.
I am going to stick with WellBody because their price is good and they’re decent to deal with.
If money’s not an issue for you, maybe you’d want to try this. Like I said, my buddy raves about it. But if money’s a concern, don’t worry, you won’t hurt your chances by choosing the cheap stuff, not according to my experiences.

When i read about Ribose, and the fact that it allows your body to make ATP, a natural energy that is hard for your body to produce with the type of diet we have this day and age, i decided why not give it a shot. The first week i noticed no change, i was waking up at 5:30 taking it each morning in a 12oz glass of water. I thought it might just be a placebo and the article i read was just a ploy to make money, well let’s just say the second week proved that wrong. The second week on my second day of working out i was in a rush so i chugged the water with the 2Tsp of Ribose in it, about ten minutes into my swim i suddenly felt wired, All together i swam for over an hour, ran for half an hour, lifted for forty-five minutes, and biked for fifteen minutes, after i was finished i felt like i could do it all again, i would definitely recommend this to everyone who feels like they need a little more energy for their day.

I like the company name and that’s about all. First there was no scoop and hard to figure 5 grams without it. I have used d-ribose in the past and it was always just enough sweetness when added to my morning coffee. This has absolutely no taste whatsoever and I question that it is ribose at all. Will be returning it and going back to another brand. Used it once.

Updated 1/6/18–I wanted to put in an update because I have found that I can tolerate this but only if I mix it with magnesium, coq10, and acetyl l-carnitine. I mix one capsule of each and about an 1/8 tsp of this and then just take a pinch of the mixture. It does seem to give me the tiniest bit of energy and temporarily takes away the faint, tingling feeling I get from the orthostatic issues I experience from the CFS. As the commenter noted, I am very sensitive to supplements so have to do small amounts.
Original post — I started taking this for chronic fatigue because it was recommended in the book From Fatigue to Fantastic. Unfortunately, it didn’t increase my energy at all. I took it for about three weeks and then one day I was feeling very bewildered and couldn’t tell why. My mom is on oxygen and has a pulse ox unit so I tested myself and found that my heart kept speeding up and then slowing down about every 10 to 20 seconds. It kept to this pattern for about 90 minutes and got to the point that I felt I may have been having a heart attack. I’ve never experienced that sensation before. We called 911 and I ended up going to the emergency room. All tests showed that my heart was fine however it kept doing that for that day and most of the next. I went off the D-Ribose because that was the only thing I could figure was affecting this. After being off it for a week my heart had calmed down but I would still get flutters or heart skips about once a day–which I was not experiencing before all this. I wanted to make sure it was the D-ribose that had caused this because I’d been so hopeful that my energy would increase with this product so I tried it again–just about a quarter of a teaspoon and within 5-10 minutes my heart was racing once more. I was miserable for about a day and a half after that. I’m sorry to say that I must be someone who just can’t use this. Maybe I am one of the unusual ones but I wanted to put this out there just in case someone is having similar symptoms and not sure of the cause.
Also since starting this, my hair was falling out at about three times the normal rate. I already had thin hair to begin with but now it is much worse. I read recently that Creatine can cause hair loss too and both these products somehow work with or enhance ATP production. Not sure of the mechanics at work here but wish I’d never tried this.

I initially was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Immune Deficiency Syndrome and started to use this daily in the mornings. It is what Robert K Tannenbaum recommends. He has written a great book on CFIDS and how to treat it. I saw an improvement in my fatigue. After testing came back, I was actually diagnosed with Lyme Disease. I still take this because it helps with my fatigue. I highly recommend it. The one thing I do have difficulty with is finding something to mix it in. I have reactive hypoglycemia so can’t tolerate any juices, which would be great to mix it with. (It has a very sweet taste, but isn’t something that I would want to use as a stand alone in my tea. I do put it into my protein smoothies, but some mornings I don’t want to have one of these and I tend to go without the d ribose on hothouse days.
