I feel like this stuff is pretty effective, but you have to be committed to the process of getting rid of your critters. This product smells extremely bad, which is good! Unfortunately, the two pack that I just ordered broke open during shipping and it was a bit of a mess getting it all organized again. I started opening it in my house, and I quickly realized that was going to be a huge mistake. One whole container of this broke open and the contents were scattered throughout the box. I was able to salvage most of it.
To be successful at getting rid of critters I feel like you might have to employ a couple of different tactics. A skunk is digging under my garage but I can’t quite get to it to block it off until the brush dies off for the winter so I’m using this product in the meantime.

Totally worked but once it rained, it didn’t work anymore. It should last a little longer I feel, especially since it’s pretty expensive

So I have many pesky squirrels who like to gather under the bird feeders and eat all the fallen bird seed. Unfortunately they also enjoy climbing up on the house and chewing holes in anything not made of brick. I’ve tried the relocation traps, but was not successful (the trap was always upside down or on its side and no squirrels were inside).
I decide to give these granules a try and waited until there had been no rain for several days and none was in the forecast to spread some out. Guessing/hoping that the birds would either not eat the granules or if they did ingest some it would not be harmful to them, I sprinkled liberal amounts of the granules all in and around the heaviest areas of bird seed spilled on the ground under the feeders. The next day, with great anticipation of a successful outcome – at least for a few days, until the next rainfall – I kept an eye on the yard to see them beat feet out of Dodge.
Not only did it not repel them, it seemed their numbers increased. And I don’t mean near where I poured the granules, but right in the middle of them. I’m not positive, but I think maybe they thought I added something to the seeds to make a sort of squirrel ‘trail mix’ for them. I’m going to try returning it if I haven’t waited too long for a dry weather spell.
As I tried to contemplate why it didn’t work for me the only thing I could come up with is that the squirrels in my area have never encountered foxes (I live in a highly developed area and have not seen a single fox in 20 years) and don’t know they are supposed to fear for their lives when they smell fox urine and skedaddle for the hills burning leather the whole way back to wherever they came from. Come to think of it, the squirrels are not scared off by the dog urine smells all over the backyard and those canines have tried to murder them at every opportunity. So why would they be afraid of the tiny fox dog? I guess I’ll try shooting them with my pellet rifle and making squirrel stew out of any I hit (just kidding……………….…….about the stew that is).

Without going into too much detail (because my blood pressure will rise again…I had some squirrels chew through my fascia board and part of my plywood to get into my attic and make a nest. I didn’t realize how bad the damage was at the time.
A wildlife removal service came and removed the squires and installed some metal to block their entry. But they are squirrely and found a nearby area to chew back in. While I was waiting for the roofer to come out to assess the damage, I needed to do something.
I wanted to buy a BB gun (a serious consideration) but thought not a good teaching decision for my son. Tabasco sauce the area? Cayenne pepper the area? (I read the squirrels don’t like the hot stuff). But I knew I could get directly to the area because of the pitch of the roof and didn’t want to risk getting air borne cayenne in my eyes or nose.
Then I found this stuff and bought it. When the wildlife removal folks came back (second time) they removed 2 dead young squirrel and one live young squirrel. I ask him to spread this stuff out in the area that they got entry. The removal guy had not heard about this stuff but did as I asked. I warned him that it stinks. He didn’t believe me. Fool.
He came down his ladder complaining that as he was throwing some of the stuff under the eaves, the smell really got to him. He said he thought this should help keep the squirrels out and with the roof repair I should be good to go. Roofer came out and did a lot of work. I asked him to also spread the granolas around and he was not happy with the smell. I just hope it lasts for a long time.
NOTE: I’m not sure this would last long if spread out in the yard. I would expect that once rain hit it, it would dissolve. Not sure how long the scent would linger then. I did spread some on my patio and now, 2 months later, the squirrels are back running around the patio. But I’m not going out and spreading it every month. I hope and pray that in the attic, out of the elements it will last a long time. I used to think squirrels were cute and funny. Now they are just destructive rats with long tails and I want them gone.
