I have a lot of really crazy food allergies, so I looked at this for quite a while before I actually committed to it. Thankfully, I have not had any negative issues, and it seems to be helping regulate my digestive activity. I put a scoop of this with my electrolyte powder, mineral drops, and a packet of water soluble vitamins all together in my 40oz tumbler every morning. It is globby, gummy, and gooey at first, but I give it all time to dissolve and it’s virtually unnoticeable. A little shake of my tumbler and we’re good to go!

SHORT REVIEW: Slimitum is essentially an agave based Inulin supplement. Inulin is GRAS (Generally recognized as Safe by the FDA) fiber with prebiotic properties. I had manufacturing safety questions that the woman behind this product addressed personally, and she appears to have developed Slimitum with attention to a safe supply chain/manufacturing facility. Potential side effects include loose stools and gas (they give specific instructions to start slowly to reduce these). It mixes best when water is added to the powder.
THE DETAILS
Transparency: The founder of Nutriish is Anna Rennick, a Mayo Clinic certified health and wellness coach and founder of Slimitum. “Nutriish Ltd is an active company incorporated on 30 June 2022 with the registered office located in Sutton, Greater London.” (per Endole), so it’s a company with one product and little history. Anna did respond to my question about Manufacturing quality, and it was obvious from her lengthy, detailed reply that a lot of thoughtfulness went into sourcing this Inulin (from Mexico where the Agave grows instead of from China where there’s an increased chance of lead contamination).
Accountability: The label states that this product is “distributed by Nutriish LTD, Surrey, England”. Slimitum does claim this product is lab tested, non-GMO, Halal and Kosher certified in different places on the container and in Amazon images, although I can’t verify that via documentation. That said, the Founder of Slimitum provided me witha detailed list of the certifications the product has. Although I am unable to verify, it was obvious from her reply that she was knowledgeable and had put a lot of thought into finding a safe supplier/manufacturer for this supplement.
Quality: This is a fine white powder with a very subtle, barely-there sweetness. They claim “Our inulin grows without chemicals or pesticides and it is harvested in a ten-year cycle, ensuring the most potent and environmentally sustainable product possible”. When mixing this I discovered the best way to do it is to add a spray of water to the powder, which mixes it instantly (Dropping the powder in water resulted in clumps that didn’t break up well even with an immersion blender). I thought it was also cool that the product’s thoughtfulness includes even the jar (non endocrine disrupting plastic) label glue (same) and packing materials made of corn and potato starch instead of plastics.
As Psyllium products are more and more associated with elevated lead content, I’m interested in other sources of fiber. Safety wise, my personal gold standard is Good Manufacturing Practices certification that I can verify. I don’t have that here, but it’s apparent from messaging the founder of this brand that she’s put a ton of thought into both the safe sourcing and manufacture of this product, which has made me feel comfortable using it.

I already take inulin from other sources and they cost a lot more. This container is packed to the brim and you only need to use 1 teaspoon per day. There is no discernable flavor on it’s own nor when I add it to my tea. I don’t notice any difference between this inulin source and the others I use.

This is a very fine powder, and it mixed well into hot liquids. There is a subtle sweet taste that is almost imperceptible. When mixed into a liquid, it made the liquid feel slightly thicker, which I found quite satisfying. Prebiotics promote the growth of healthy gut bacteria, and Inulin is often added to products as a source of prebiotic fiber. The jar I received has a “use by” date that is 5 years after the date I received it. I am happy to have found a source of inulin that is simply 100% organic inulin and is free of artificial ingredients, additives, as well as a host of common allergens.

I’m amused that my morning coffee has become a potpourri of dietary supplements. I have long added fiber (both soluble and insoluble) into my morning cup. With this product, now I’m able to add inulin. This stuff is odorless and tasteless. It dissolves easily into hot coffee. I have been reading more and more about the importance of the gut microbiome and the potential health benefits, so I like the idea of taking a prebiotic to “feed” the bacteria in my gut. I have no adverse reaction to inulin in the recommended dosage.

Upon receiving the NUTRIISH SLIMITUM Organic Inulin Powder, I was impressed by its premium quality and purity. The powder, derived from organic agave, had a light, fluffy texture. However, I surprised to find that it didn’t dissolve into my water as easily as I had hoped. Instead, the powder would form this clumpy paste that just never fully dissolved. I found myself swirling it as I drank.
That said, 400g size ensured that I had an ample supply to last me for weeks to come, allowing me to experience the full benefits of this powerful prebiotic fiber. I can definitely say that I felt more regular after the use of this product. I think what sets this inulin powder apart is its gentle yet effective nature. As someone with a sensitive digestive system, I appreciated how smoothly it blended into my daily routine without causing any discomfort or digestive upset, even if it didn’t blend well into my drinks, haha.

I used this entire tub of powder before writing my review, just to see if it took a while to notice a difference. I would liken it to like taking a mild fiber powder.
I would give this item five stars for taste (none, literally) and ability to dissolve. There is no grit or chalky flavor – it absolutely and completely dissolves.
I was disappointed that the seal on my canister was completely unattached upon arrival. You can see in the photo that the seal came off inside the lid when I first opened it.
All in all, I didn’t notice a huge difference while using this product, though I did notice enough of a difference to not call it a placebo.
