Flavor is ok, its one of those things that the first sip you take does not taste good, but after the first few sips it tastes better and better. Froths up like crazy and does not blend well in a shaker. The froth has the worst flavor, so you have to let it settle down for a few minutes before drinking. I haven’t noticed any stomach concerns, however I have an iron stomach and am not phased by much.
Only concerning thing is the labeling and description. In the product page, it says in one place 29g of protein per serving, another says 32g. One part of the description (and the actual packaging) says its made in the USA, another part of the description says its from Sweden. Its advertised as 0g fat 0g carb, but the nutrition label on the package I got has 2g of carbs, not a huge deal but inconsistencies like that worry me.

Least allergenic if all protein powders !! Whey no good if dairy intolerant and pea protein full of plant toxins eg lectins that can potentially damage your gut ! It tastes great and I use it to make smoothies and even pancakes !! Love it 🥰

I love this protein powder. Don’t expect it to act like plant-based protein powders, it dissolves beautifully and mixes well in savory or sweet meals. But it is beef. I love adding it to drinking broth or to add protein to soups. I also bake with it, adding it to gluten free brownies, muffins and cookies. It’s great mixed with my dairy free cheese powder “grownass” and pasta for a delicious and creamy mac and cheese. If you mix it with frozen fruit, it turns into a light shake, almost like a mousse. This protein with chocolate powder and frozen bananas tastes so good you’ll forget it’s got 30 grams of protein in it. And it’s the best price per ounce by far. I don’t know why some are upset about the price.

Very good paleo protein at a decent price. The flavor is good. .It dissolves easily and mixes with other powders such as amino acids and creatine.

The 4.5 lbs of dry unused powder make a nice doorstop. The bag is a nice material, very smooth and seemingly durable. The black and white color scheme of the bag is very modern.
If you like rancid sunflower seeds this is the one. Clearly based on the reviews this is a superior product, but sadly I was never able to get past the stale sunflower smell and taste. It’s too bad too because I’m a big fan of inflammation from food, so I appreciate all the benefits of consuming rancid seeds and I can definitely see why they would add that for folks that prefer abdominal discomfort, joint pain, and constant allergies. The staleness really comes through as a primary attribute of both the smell and the taste. For those that appreciate old sunflower seeds, make sure to get you some.
For context, I had previously ordered Beef Protein Isolate from True Nutrition’s website directly. What I got was the typical boring beef broth-type powder. Beefy flavor, difficult to mix, needing salt and pepper and a nice sear, etc. I double-checked just now to be sure and the only ingredient shown on their website in both the picture of the package and the written ingredient list is still “Beef Protein Isolate” and nothing else.
Having choked my way through that previous practically-perfect single-ingredient beefy gluey glop, I needed a top-up fast because I didn’t bother to plan ahead, so I ordered the next batch from Amazon. I bought 5lbs because it was so plain and basic and met all my boring needs. I didn’t look closely at the ingredients so I had no idea how much better this would be. Instead of a bag of beef protein isolate, this is more like a bag of sunflower seed meal that was enhanced through dry aging by sitting in a warehouse for a few months, and then subsequently cooked for a few hot days or weeks in a UPS truck before landing on my doorstep. So much value added! Sadly the flavor is a little too much like that of premature aging.
I was considering feeding this to the dogs, but not sure I want to risk the vet bill. I think I will hold onto it a bit longer. When the zombie apocalypse starts maybe I can trade this unused protein/sunflower mixture off to desperate neighbors in exchange for toilet paper.

I got this because I’m lactose intolerant so the usual protein gives me the runs. But this protein just tastes straight up bad. It takes forever to mix like a few minutes to get rid of the clumpiness. It’s also very sticky and tbh I think it still gives me stomach pains. The quality unfortunately was not there for me and I’m not getting another like this again. I’d rather crap myself drinking the usual milk protien than having to drink this.
Also, when i first taste it, it tastes pretty good until it hits the back of my throat and I can’t take it anymore.

(this is for the Chocolate Fudge Brownie flavour – I have not tried others)
The people on here complaining about the flavour have clearly not experimented too much with non-dairy protein powders. I have tried SO many different protein powders. I have followed a vegan diet in the past and used many different vegan powders, and I have also been a competitive bodybuilder and used many different kinds of whey and casein powders.
This is, hands down, the best *non-dairy* protein powder I have used – both texturally and flavour. Like a previous review said – if you are looking for this to essentially taste like a child’s milkshake, then you wont be pleased (but bear in mind all the things that make it taste that great are probably not great for you). This protein powder tastes good. You’re not going to write home about it, but it IS good. And it mixes beautifully, and has a smooth texture (unlike every horrible vegan protein powder out there).
But the best part is that it does not upset my stomach. I have a very sensitive stomach and currently have to follow a carnivore diet because of it, and this protein powder is seriously a miracle for me.
I have also heard great things about the customization options that this brand has through their website, but I have yet to check that out. Will definitely be ordering the 5lb bag!
I merely say it’s not perfect only because I’m not a huge fan of stevia or sunflower lecithan, but I also understand that sometimes options are limited when you are creating specialty items, and based on my stomach’s reactions I would say those ingredients are minimal.
