My son is 6 years old. He has been diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder. He gets over stimulates very easy and has a hard time controlling his emotions. He also has trouble with being social as he is so all over the place and has trouble following with other kids. He has a hard time communicating and as a result leads to a lot of fights a school. Lids know how to get him going and he doesn’t have the ability to control himself enough to re refeain. He lacks the ability to see cause and effect and also what behaviors were wrong. He gets a thought in his mind and out it comes from his mouth, big distraction in class. He is 100 miles per hour until he shuts down and falls asleep. As a baby we had to use weighted blankets or he would not stay still which resulted in leg and body pains. I have spent tons of money researching ways to help him and seeking all types of mental and occupational help for him with no luck at all. It continued to get worse at school. I bought Attentive Child because my grandson age 4 has all signs of ADHD although he has not been tested. He liked the tangy sweet waffers. The first 2.5 weeks he took it I saw a lot of improvement in his hyperactivity and speaking but it STOP working. I did not give him anything extra. I was so disappointed and couldn’t figure out why a medicine would start working and then stop. I kept him on it for 5.5 weeks thinking it would start working again but it didn’t. My daughter was also recently diagnosed with ADHD. She has brought her Preschool teachers to tears a number of times. Hyperactive, defiant, impulsive and mood issues were common. She pushed kids off of high playground structures and had major tantrums hitting me many times, even at age 4.
Her doctor also stated that I should strongly consider medication. As with many parents, this pushed me to consider alternatives. I was hoping to help my son with problems focusing at school and home. I had seen other reviewers who said they had trouble getting their child to take it because it tastes bad. Well, I had that problem and more. My son would beg me not to have to take it because it made him nauseated to take it. After taking this for several weeks I got a note home from my son’s teacher saying that my sons behavior in school had slowly deteriorated over the past few weeks to the point where he just sits there and pays no attention in class as all. We have stopped giving him these and just hope things at least get back to where they were.
