Written after 3 weeks of use:
Switched to this from a different pre workout (GM) because I was looking for no additives. This is much more compact both in formula and packaging. These scoops are SMALL. The scooper is the size of my thumb nail and I’m a 5’3 lady with baby hands. The package itself is the size of my palm. I will say, for such a small amount it packs a punch.
As for its performance. It definitely gives a caffeine boost. I only do one scoop since I’m on the smaller side. One scoop is plenty to get me through a 2 hour workout session. I notice the biggest boost to my running and weight lifting. Granted, I don’t lift heavy weights, just light dumbbells but I find that I can easily get through sets while taking this preworkout and my running is easier too and I don’t build up lactic acid as quickly.
The negatives: The caffeine can give me a bit of jitters since I’m not much of a caffeine person on the daily. I also do notice a tiny bit of face and hand itch from the Beta Alanine although that’s said to be common and harmless. If anything I kind of appreciate it since I know the pre workout has kicked in at that point. It’s not very distracting to me but if you’re sensitive to such things I would advise against any preworkout with that in it.
Overall I would recommend this to someone who’s keen to avoid unnecessary additives. It’s not quite as powerful as the super popular preworkouts but i would say it’s about 80% as powerful so the benefits outweigh the slight performance drop.
The taste is pretty horrible but I just take it dry, plop it in my mouth and immediately swish with some water to get it down then I drink the rest of the recommended water afterwards. I think this is the easiest way.

I like that there are no artificial sweeteners or sugar but it does have a slight bitter taste, but I guess that is to be expected. I will keep buying this.

I will break this down into three sections: Background/Physical Quality, Taste, and Perceived Workout-Benefit.
Background/Quality:
I decided to get a pre-workout because I really wanted to start exercising more but I’ve always had significant trouble motivating myself to go to the gym, and one of my biggest excuses was “I’m too tired”/”Ugh, I don’t really feel like it right now, today was a long day”. I figured if I forced energy into myself via pre-workout, I wouldn’t have that excuse anymore. I chose Naked Energy’s Unflavored pre-workout because it is only made up of 10 ingredients, all of them are natural, there is no sugar (gains-killer), and one serving is just under 5 grams (which I can drink with 8oz of water rather than getting a flavored one that’s 16g per serving that I would need to drink 24 oz of water with, and which allows for me to pay $40 for 50 servings instead of $40 for 20 servings). When the product arrived, I was glad to see that there wasn’t really much clumping and that the powder was pretty fine in terms of particle size. When I began using it I was disappointed by it’s ability to dissolve in water, however I realized relatively soon after that I had just been too impatient with it. If you give it 30+ seconds of stirring, it will be almost completely dissolved, which is a huge plus.
Taste:
Bear in mind that supplements in general are not meant to be delicious. bearing that in mind, this is UNFLAVORED. that does not mean that it does not have any flavor, it means that they don’t add anything to make it “yummy”. It tastes AWFUL. It is one of the most alien and bitter tastes I’ve ever had. I started drinking it with a -take five sips without breathing, chase with water quickly, then repeat until gone- strategy. I mixed it with a cool raspberry-hibiscus tea and it was bearable. I went back to the five-sip method because I’m lazy and was able to manage. Read the next section to see why the taste didn’t drop this product’s stars.
Perceived Workout Benefit:
This stuff works. there is no doubt about it. it has become a staple of my morning routine. half an hour before I want to workout throw on workout clothes, I mix this with 8 oz of water, drink it quick (because again, the taste is atrocious), and watch an episode of the office for 20ish minutes while I let the pre-workout kick in. by the time the episode is over, I feel wide awake with clean and non-jittery energy, I can feel a light pins-and-needles tingle from the beta-alanine (which is bearable at 2g), and I actually look forward to doing my daily workout. I have never gone to the gym as consistently as I have with Naked Energy, and I’ve never woken up before my alarm and decided “you know what, I should go to the gym” and then feel like I could put in maximal effort at 5:30am until I started using Naked Energy. Plus, for 50 servings at $40, it’s almost impossible to find a better option.
TL;DR: Ignore the horrible taste, this stuff is awesome. Mix until clear and wait 20-30 min before starting exercise.

This product is amazing ! I was SOOOO to try this scared after reading the extreme reviews about the taste. I bought the CITRUS flavor. Obviously it’s not the most amazing flavor like some others that have fake sugar and fake flavors but it’s pretty enjoyable. Not bad at all. Not sure how to describe the flavor. Maybe. Lemony orange mixed with something else ? It’s not bitter or sour at all. When you swallow it it’s not gross at all. It very balanced and neutral.
I thought I might gag a little or have to take it like a shot and then be grossed out after… NOT AT ALL. I thought I was kind of baby when it came to this. I don’t ever even do liquor shots bc I hate it. I know the reviews are of mixed flavors and I can only speak to the citrus, but all the people complaining about how terrible it tastes need to get a life. Are you a 5 years old? Do let them scare you away from product. I recommend 10/10. DO IT !!
I’m so happy I found this and can get a little caffeine boost without having to drink coffee or those junk, unsafe pre-works that are out there. I do one scoop which is 100mg and it’s perfect !!

I would have to agree with the reviews, the taste is pretty bad. I mix a bit of organic lemon juice in with the water and it cuts the bitterness. You definitely won’t want to dry scoop this stuff. I will add that this pre-workout gives me a lasting boost, and the tingles that I personally like! Totally worth it for the clean ingredient list.

First of all, this product tastes awful. I expected that. Unflavored doesn’t mean it tastes like nothing; it just means they don’t add anything to mask the bitterness. I kept 5 stars because it’s really that effective. I will keep using, will probably continue to purchase.

Tastes like crap but if u mix it with lemonade it’s not too bad but it’s the best pre workout I ever had! lots of energy going to the gym and even after I was done! I love that’s its not filled with garbage like sugar or artificial sweetners
Werner –
It gives you energy for your workout, no jitters like the other sugar packed ones. A little tingle in the arms as well which always feels good and I probably could have went another hr in the gym

The flavor is unpleasant but it is very effective and gives me tons of energy within 15 minutes. I usually put in in a small glass of water and chug it.
Flexible & comfortable –
With all honesty I like this product for number of reasons. I have been working out for 3 years already and tried to find the perfect preworkout for me. I do feel the burst of energy (not like crack but you feel more motivated). It does taste TERRIBLE but I rather fight thru the bitter medicine like taste. Over having crashes after working out. I realized this preworkout does not make me crash after a month of taking it when I workout. Takes about 15-20 minutes to kick in. I will recommend you to stir a little water and one scoop (or two). Am a 5’3 female (150lbs) I look average but therefore the dosage for someone around my size should be one scoop and maybe two for a guy who is bigger. It’s not as expensive as other preworkouts and I believe it’s worth for your health and workout necessities.
