The trick to making it taste like taro bubble tea is: French vanilla creamer! I use the international delight brand.
I remember reading somewhere that the trick bubble tea shops use is non-dairy creamer so I tried some of my French vanilla creamer and it really did the trick!
BUT! Now that I have it dialed in, unfortunately it’s just a bit too expensive to keep up with. AND I *have to* drink it with the pearls which adds calories and I’m really trying to cut back where I can, both calorically and financially.
I really want to keep buying this but I can’t justify it atm. Maybe I will again when I’m on a bulk and feel a bit more financially secure.

I was so excited to find a taro protein powder. My only hesitation was the fact that the ingredients listed included monk fruit as sweetener and coconut oil creamer. I bought it anyway hoping for the best and I really wish they left those two ingredients out. The monk fruit is what is the most offensive. It is way too sweet for me even when I used half the amount of powder recommended. It also leaves a weird after taste. I always prefer to sweeten beverages myself so I can control the sweetness and with this powder you really cant. I really hope the manufacturer considers leaving out sweetener altogether. It would be a much better product. Until then, I won’t be buying more.

Taro milk tea is my favorite boba flavor, and with a new focus on protein intake in my life, this seemed like a great option to try! This has a very strong monk fruit flavor/aftertaste, which may not be for everyone, and I didn’t love it initially but have grown accustomed to it. The taro flavor is there but definitely not an exact match for taro boba lovers; I still like it better than most other protein powders I’ve tried though! I’ve only ever used this protein powder in my blender and it blends great. Protein content is pretty good for the calories. I dislike the watery protein shake texture so I find this most enjoyable blended with ice and a 50/50 ratio of milk to water (for a more smoothie-like consistency) plus a banana (frozen helps the smoothie consistency but fresh will help thicken it up as well) and some frozen berries thrown in. Pretty delicious!

I recently had some Taro tea with Boba from a loca tea house and really liked the flavor of the Taro. I soon found out that not all tea houses prepare them the same way. Since I have a protein shake every day (low absorption from food) once I found this I had to try it. OH MY GOSH! This is SO much better than expected! The instructions tell you to use 8 ounces of milk, I didn’t like that so much, so I add 1/2 cup of milk, 1/2 cup iced tea (unsweetened) and ice, then blend until smooth. If I want the texture a bit thinner I add more tea. I occasionally add boba pearls too. This is so good and so refreshing that I look forward to my protein drinks now.
*****Update******. After using this for this for a while, I can say, I love his more every time I use it! I’ve even tried it with the boba tapioca pearls, and it is every bit as good and in some cases, better, than what I get at the Boba shops. Plus, I can control the sweetness of it.

I bought this because I love boba and wanted something a little more nutritious than what you typically find at a boba shop. It was disgusting! I tried mixing it with different types of milk, water, and different combinations of milk and water. Nothing made this palatable.

I love taro and enjoy boba. I was excited when I saw this flavor was an option and despite mixed reviews from others regarding the taste, I went for it.
So glad I did!
The initial smell when you open the bag isn’t really of taro but once you mix with water or milk, the taro scent really comes out.
I tried it with ice and water to start and found it tasty. I have been using oat milk recently and it makes it creamy and delicious-honestky a perfect boba substitute. I recommend using a frother if you have one to add an extra element of creaminess 🙂
All in all, great macros (25g of protein!) and I will be purchasing again.

I am currently on a cut while doing 75 hard, so I can’t drink boba because it’s wasted calories for me. However, I love boba and I’ve seen people rave about this brand on social media a lot, so I thought it was worth a try! I wanted to get the milk tea flavor, but it was sold out so I decided to try the Taro flavor. Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect, but I was absolutely blown away by how robust the flavor is! I’ve tried actual taro boba that wouldn’t even stand a chance against this. I like how the brand focuses on clean and simple ingredients because I know a lot of protein powders can upset people’s stomach. I didn’t experience any issue with this. I also liked that the texture wasn’t super thick. I used the recommended amount of liquid with it, but I did half fat free milk and half water. I didn’t use a shaker bottle so there were some chunks that didn’t fully mix with the liquid, but this happens with other protein powders I’ve tried. For the price and the quality, I was surprised by how many servings I received too. Overall, I would highly recommend and I can’t wait to try their other flavors, such as the milk tea, matcha, and Thai tea!

I originally left a bad review but I really wanted to like this product. I put a scoop of powder with oatmilk in a shaker and wasn’t impressed….tried adding a bit of stevia and that wasn’t it either. I added some zero sugar caramel syrup with some tapioca pearls and it tastes like the real deal.
