I have a hard time swallowing pills, but these go down pretty easily. I don’t notice a fishy taste or ‘fish burps’. I do notice something fishy though. After a day or so, I started to notice a smell…down there. I thought I had a bacterial infection…down there. But there were no other signs of an infection. I stopped taking the pills, and poof, smell was gone. That’s right, these cause a case of fish vag. I have found that if I take them right before bed, it seems less…stank like. It’s not like, ‘oh wow that lady that just walked past me in the street stinks’ level of bad. It’s more like ‘oh the lady that was just in this bathroom stall stinks’. Not ideal, but maybe not a deal breaker for use during pregnancy.

No fishy taste or aftertaste. Easy to swallow and great to take prepartum and beyond. Trust Nordic and they’ll care for you, your body and your baby. Currently on my second stint of the prenatal version, will take thru breastfeeding. Helps me tone down those emotional outbursts (tears) postpartum.

Normally fish oil pills are GIGANTIC! The Nordic Naturals pills are much more manageable. The strawberry flavor also completely has no fishy taste! Most of the time I don’t have any aftertaste, but if I do, it’s fruity strawberry! These are a perfect addition to my prenatal supplement routine!

The Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA supplement has been my favorite Omega during pregnancy. I am 28 weeks along and have also tried the Thorne prenatal DHA (as well as many brands sold at Walmart before pregnancy). Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA has a slight strawberry flavor and zero fish-y aftertaste. I do not notice any seafood odors when I open the bottle or take the supplements. This has been amazing due to the ‘super smell’ I have developed during pregnancy. Highly recommend!

I chose Nordic Naturals because their products are tested for toxic metals by a third party. They also post their certificate of analysis online.
DHA is essential for fetal brain development. There is no established recommended daily intake but most research studies suggest taking a minimum of 500 mg of both DHA and EPA. This product’s serving size meets that requirement.
The alternative is eating seafood for DHA, but then you’d be expose to mercury.
The added vitamin D is useful specially since people are often indoors and therefore do not get enough sun exposure.

I was in the market for a high quality omega 3 supplement and decided to give these a try. Although it’s marketed as a prenatal, it’s the same ingredient as their regular fish oil supplement AND covered by HSA/FSA (the original is not). Very happy with the quality of this supplement – no fishy aftertaste.
