Dr Mercola is a brand that I have used and one that I trust to be a little bit more worth the price for the quality. These are easy to swallow sized pills, with no real discernible smell or taste. These have settled easily with my stomach each time I have taken them and I would buy these again. The supplements arrived in a sturdy and sealed brown glass bottle.

It is the first version of “iodine” that agrees with my system. So, even though it has other ingredients, I would say it might be that they are helpful for me in this formulation. It doesn’t repeat on me or cause my digestive system to slow down to nothing like the others do.

I’ve been hypothyroid for many years and have tried just about every supplement made that could help. I’ve tried iodine supplementation in the past and it seemed to make things worse rather than better. Depending what you read or who you ask, iodine is a cure or curse for hypothyroidism – it’s just impossible to get a definitive answer. If there were definitive answers, it’s likely there would be a cure.
I took one of these with a thyroid antibody support supplement and did notice changes, as I have with other thyroid relevant supplements. Unfortunately, at this point I don’t know which supplement caused the change. Within a few days I started getting hyperthyroid symptoms so I had to reduce my prescription thyroid medicine by half. Thereafter, everything was stable for the next 3 weeks when I ran out of the other supplement.
While reading more about the other supplement, I found some compelling information claiming that iodine supplementation is actually not a good thing for autoimmune hypothyroidism – more convincing information than I’ve ever seen. So, for now, I’m going to stop the iodine supplements and actually try to reduce my iodine intake to see what happens.

I am normally very satisfied with Mercola’s product. I bought this item without realizing that there is a California warning label on it as being harmful. There is no return policy on this item.

For some reason the California heavy metal warning label ( proposition 65) is hidden on amazon website. One can only see this warning label after delivery. I wouldn’t order it in the first place had I seen the warning label before buying this item.

I really like that this is in a dark glass bottle, organic and non-GMO. Organic Seaweed is an important trace mineral that can support your thyroid and metabolism. Great product that I recommend.
