This is pure ascorbic acid, so you get the best results in whatever way you are using it. I purchased this to take internally (about 4,000 mg/day) and it is GREAT. I put it in water 3 times a day and get my full vitamin C intake to keep my immune system functioning properly. Yes, it’s tart, but hello – that’s what vitamin C tastes like! I supposed I could put it in juice like I do for our son, but I’m on a no sugar diet/healthy foods so that’s not an option. I am not into bitter or tart flavors, and I can deal with this, so most people will probably find it very tolerable if they have to take it in water only like myself.
I also used to use a vitamin C face powder with my moisturizer (which is a combination of natural oils I make myself) and was almost out of the vitamin C face powder. I checked the ingredients and found out there were a number of ingredients that I didn’t want to put on my skin (what goes on your skin goes INTO your skin and then into your body), so I tried using this powder instead. It is water soluble, so of course it didn’t dissolve in my face oil, but I put a few drops of water in the palm of my hand with this vitamin C powder and my face oil and the crystals dissolved just fine. I put the combination on like I normally do, and it felt the same (a slight stinging from the vitamin C). I now will use this on my face and save myself the outrageous price of $35/tiny vial of the other face powder – and save my body from the harmful ingredients it contains!
This product is fantastic for inside the body and out!

I make my own vitamin C serum with this stuff and it is so good for my skin. Vitamin C is involved it the stimulation and production of collagen in the skin and you can not get enough of it in the right places through diet alone.
Buying high quality, designer C serum is always an option, but, it will cost you an arm and a leg and it will have preservatives in it and who knows what else? When you make your own, it is always fresh, extremely effective, you always know what is in it and it is so affordable you can use it all over if you wish.
I make a fresh batch every 3 days and keep it in a dark spray bottle container. Vitamin C is extremely fragile and will turn quickly. If that happens you will actually be putting something on your skin that will CAUSE the very damage you are intending to prevent and reverse in the first place. So keep it fresh, never trust products that have vitamin C added unless they are costly and have a reputation for being good quality. Vitamin C is quite a buzz word for advertisers and marketers of products but does absolutely no good for your skin if it is not preserved properly and packaged correctly.
Vitamin C serum needs to be made with purified water if you are using water as the base. Some other options are witch hazel or rose water. You can also add a drop or two of glycerin to give it a little slip and spread-ability. Always store it in an air tight container to prevent oxidation and make sure the container is a dark glass or plastic to protect it from light.
Depending on how strong you want it the following guide will give you the measurements for the right formula for your needs or tolerance.
5% serum – 1/4 tsp Powder to 4 & 3/4 tsp base
10% serum – 1/4 tsp powder to 2 & 1/4 tsp base
15% serum – 1/4 tsp powder to 2 & 1/8 tsp base
20% serum – 1/4 tsp powder to 1 tsp base
I jumped right into the 20% strength right away twice a day. It was a bit strong at first. Stings a little but I wanted maximum results right away. My skin responded the very first day. I woke up with brighter skin, tighter pores and a smoother feel to the touch. My skin was glowing! It keeps getting better but now I only use it every other morning as I now use Retin A at night.
The spray bottle makes it easy to spray on my tummy, bum and thighs. If you use a dermaroller for stretch marks, cellulite or scars anywhere on the body, vitamin C serum is a must to aid in the repairing process. I love how the backs of my thighs are tightening up and this stuff is helping.
Don’t forget the under arms. I used to have issues with under arm odor even if I was freshly showered. I learned that this is a p.h. issue and as soon as I started squirting a little serum under my arms every morning it went away. I recommend a weaker strength for this so you don’t sting your pits!
I love this stuff. I wish I would have known of the benefits for use on skin years ago.

Since it’s powdered it’s great to add to natural juices and get a real concentration of V-C unlike ready made supplements. I personally felt the difference and hence I would buy it again!

I purchased this product in order to make liposomal Vitamin C (together with non GMO lecithin, using an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner also available here). The ultrasonic waves of the machine causes the C to become ‘encapsulated’ by the lecithin, thus making it more bio-available, since normally your digestive system will only allow you to absorb so much at a time.
Part of the process of making this is dissolving a tablespoon of this ascorbic acid, keep stirring until all the crystals are dissolved, then mixing it with soaked, blended lecithin and then putting in the ultrasonic cleaner for 30 minutes and stirring the entire time. The result is a fat soluble version of Vitamin C. Vitamin C in the ‘usual’ format is hard to absorb, you only absorb a small percentage of the C, and if you take a larger amount, diahrea will result. Making it ‘liposomal’ allows you to take a higher dose and no diahrrea. (If you’re interested in doing this you can just google how to make liposomal vitamin C and should come).
Prolonged high dose Vitamin C usage is controversial, and I myself won’t use it that way, just higher dose if ill or stressed, then going down to a lower dose; IV Vitamin C is given to people who have had certain kinds of poisoning and as an alternative cancer treatment. I have been ill and under great stress the past few months and so when I found out about this liposomal C, I decided to try it out.
After I made it up I took a tablespoon, and within 2 hours I felt markedly better. The constant nausea I had had after a bout with the flu was gone, and my mood felt noticeably brighter. I have since made up some for a friend who has been injured and worn out adrenals, and encouraging people to try it who have chronic illness.
Liposomal C is available commercially, but apparently it’s expensive, so this is an easy accessible way to create some, and from the results I’ve had already, I can say this NOW version is definitely active and effective.
CAUTION – don’t expose your teeth directly to this or any acidic form of Vit C – the acidity will harm your enamel.
Follow up: two weeks later I have significantly more energy and mental focus when I use this, and my friends and family are using it too and raving about it (the liposomed version).
