Urban Moonshine Calm Tummy Bitters – Certified Organic – Relief for Nausea

I used this for morning sickness and it worked amazingly well. I’d take two droppers full, lay down for 15 or so minutes and the nausea would dissipate. It tastes horribly strong like bitter ginger but was majorly worth it. I now use it for just about any stomach issue and it works awesome and fast.

I have Microscopic Colitis/IBS and Gerd. I’ve had digestive issues for the past 7 years. I’ve had stomach pain and nausea every day. I just received the bitters and had to try it immediately. It tastes absolutely disgusting. However, I don’t care. If it works, that’s all I care about. Within a seconds, I could feel my stomach start to relax. It’s been about 5 minutes now, and my pain and nausea are almost completely gone. I can’t believe it. I am looking forward to taking this on a regular basis and seeing the results.

Nearly 20 years of taking heartburn medication, and I’m quitting! I tried just eating healthier, and while that was an excellent change, it didn’t help the reflux. I added a wedge pillow, but that did nothing. Now it’s two years later, and I’m fed up. My first choice was probiotics, and they allowed me to cut my medication dose in half. But with this? Four days now, with no medication and very little heartburn! I was so excited I told Facebook friends and offered it to the kids.
I know I said “very little heartburn”, so I should explain. In the first two days I used these bitters, I had two lunches which included the garlic- and cucumber-laden tzatziki sauce. On the first night, my daughter made curry for dinner, and the second we had a spicy Italian dish. Even someone with a very healthy digestive system might expect to experience some pain on days like that! The real story is that I was able to take a small dose of bitters and clear up the little bit of trouble I had within just a few minutes.
I know it doesn’t make sense. Alcohol worsens heartburn in nearly everyone, and this is 35% alcohol. But the blend of herbs is so powerful that the delivery method doesn’t interfere. Alcohol-based extracts can be the best way to capture some plants’ beneficial components, and it shows here.
Taste. Um. Well. In fairness, I have maybe three or four alcoholic beverages a year, and those are usually fruity things on vacation. I don’t really like the taste of alcohol, and this does have that drawback – like nearly every other bitters concoction available in the world. But I think of it as “medicine”, and I’ve had far worse. This isn’t delicious when taken straight from the dropper, but that’s almost the point. It doesn’t taste as bitter as I expected, though; nothing like biting into some mouth-drying unsweetened cocoa or over-warmed coffee. There is an herbaceous sweetness to it, and the floral component would add a lovely note if diluted in a drink. Like the way vanilla extract is a horrible potion if you were to drink it straight, but is absolute perfection in the proper quantity of food. Only this is not nearly as horrible to take as vanilla would be! After four days, I really don’t mind it.
I take half a dropper full before meals, and again after if I feel like I need it. I woke up this morning, and actually thought “My tummy feels… good? I feel good”! I am amazed and grateful to have found this. I’m a naturalist-type, and I do make and tincture my own herbs, so I may try to do my own bitters one day. But in the meantime, I’m going to be sampling the various flavors and styles Urban Moonshine has to offer.
I am a product tester, but guess what? I did NOT get a discount on this in exchange for my review. I read a few blog posts and asked a few friends who suggested it. I am not affiliated with Urban Moonshine, I’m just a fan. I rely on reviews in my daily life, and hope you found this helpful, and thanks for taking the time to read it!

I have been using this company’s bitters for a couple years now. They are my favorite. I’ve tried other brands and they work okay, but I’ve had the best results with this product. The flavor is also strong but honestly I’ve had others absolutely way worse than this one. This one is much more tolerable. I’ve let my friends and family try it before when they’ve had belly aches at holiday gatherings, and even though you’re supposed to take it before you eat – not after, it still helped them. They were impressed!

Used this during pregnancy since it’s the only one safe for that. It actually made me more nauseous. I have had nausea problems during this whole pregnancy, so it may not be the bitter’s fault. I have not noticed any benefits from this. I really just felt worse and it tastes TERRIBLE… BUT it is called digestive bitters, so that should be expected. lol. I’m going to try it again after I have this baby and see if it’s beneficial for me since I have read so many wonderful things about the benefits of bitters.

Helps for gas, bloating, and digestive issues. Tastes horrible. But, worth bad taste for help it provides.

Just started using this to help with liver and digestion. I have been using antimicrobials for gut issues and I need some extra support. I also use milk thistle. I am hoping that between the two my liver will continue to export those toxins out of me (along with the probiotics).
