I opened the bag and did not smell anything. Used it in my coffee and it dissolved perfectly, no little lumps. I could not taste it all. So far I have no issues with it.

Don’t waste your time or money on this. It is actually ginseng leaves, not root. It tastes wrong and does not have any of the benefits found in ginseng root.
Unable to return through Amazon – even though it is ‘Prime’. Thanks Amazon, for falsely vouching for this product by adding the Prime label that is supposed to mean simple convenient returns.
Returns must be handled manually at the customers expense. The full cost is not returned if you opened the package – you only get a fraction of the cost refunded (which would not even cover the cost of shipping).

I’ve been trying Bulk Supplements for over two years now and can’t complain. The quality of good and the prices are reasonable. I was surprised to see them bring sold on Amazon. I’ve gotten my ginseng root extract from this company for a while now, but I made a mistake and bought this one. It doesn’t taste as bad as the root extract, but it also doesn’t mix well with liquids. It’s very gummy when wet. So the texture makes me gag. As a rule, the leaves and stems are less potent than the root. So I’m assuming this is a less valuable version. POSITIVE: Doesn’t taste as bad. NEGATIVE: It’s harder to consume and less potent.

Used in smaller quantities had no bad taste. Added to hot coffee or teas disolved powder product without sticking to sides of cup.

i ordered 2 kg . I opened one. Dissolved some in water , the taste is not same as ginseng then rechecked the reviews — some said not ginseng . American ginseng =chinese words 花旗参 I had eaten it. As i opened it so i kept it but quite worry to eat it

I ordered both ginsengs. The red was white and powdery, the white was a red/brown and very sticky (even when only about 15% of the mix) making it hard to fill capsules, it was doable, but messy. It was strange that they had the opposite characteristics from their whole forms, not sure if that’s from the extract process, but they both smell like ginseng, and are otherwise very effective. Dissolves easily in water, maybe that’s where the sticky comes from, love to know for sure, probably never will.
BTW, I think this should be written on all the packaging: “Inner seal is NOT closed, contents may have shifted during delivery, open with care.” and maybe some instructions on how to tap down the bag beforehand and cleaning out the zipper tracks with a toothpick. Both seem to be a large source of bad reviews and are easily fixed.
