Supplements help close the gap between modern nutrition levels in our food, and the levels that were there when I was young. But, in my opinion, the supplement industry has both some of the highest integrity companies, and some of the lowest. So I try and give a detailed enough review to get to know the company and product better, to help you determine for yourself whether or not you want to try this one out.
This bottle comes about 25% full, which is one of my pet peeves with supplement companies. If used as directed it will last one month. I would prefer they use a smaller bottle.
The expiration date on mine is Nov 2026, so a little less than 1.5 years from now.
These have virtually no scent or taste, and are easy to swallow with water.
I like my supplements to say organic, non-GMO, GMP-certified, 3rd-party tested, and Made in USA. This says GMP-certified and formulated in the USA (which usually means manufactured elsewhere).
I look into the supplement companies I use because I’ve come across so many questionable ones. The qivaro site is functional. Qivaro is a brand of Rydex Enterprises, LLC, which started in 2002. I don’t have all the details on their sourcing and manufacturing, but they are not afraid of the spotlight (media interviews, magazine articles, etc.)… the one thing that would make me feel better is a phone number.
It’s definitely pricey, but to get a quality product from an established company is worth at least part of that. I have used their supplements before and like them, but I don’t get why they go for high quality ingredients and then use magnesium stearate, which so many companies say they need, but the makers of the highest quality supplements I know won’t use them.

I like this product a lot. The ingredients seem to be legit and of good quality. The pills are easy to swallow and don’t leave any bad taste behind. It is an easy way to get the benefits of garlic without the bad breath afterwards.

I took these before my annual physical exam and the results were just like the year before. Easy to swallow pills though.

I thought this looked like an interesting supplement for lowering cholesterol. There are some positive points, but the inclusion of niacin (B3) is worrying, as it is no longer recommended for cholesterol control.¹ Indeed, a recent study in Nature Medicine found that high levels of niacin are associated with higher risk for heart disease.²
Despite the niacin concerns, some of the other ingredients look good.
Plant sterols (phytosterols) are known to reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol, although dosages are typically higher than 400 mg/day, with 2000 mg/day being most effective.³
Gugul is more problematic, as some studies indicate it reduces total cholesterol, but not LDL cholesterol.⁴⸴⁵
Garlic seems to have good results, although the dosage in terms of garlic powder is unclear.⁶
Cayenne (capsicum annuum) does seem to significantly reduce total cholesterol, but doesn’t regulate TG, HDL and LDL concentrations.⁷
Overall, this supplement has some promising ingredients, but given that it includes niacin, I’d be hesitant to recommend it.

This product has all the certification symbols indicating high quality. Every ingredient has been researched and has been shown to have properties that are beneficial for cardiovascular health; in particular for reducing LDL cholesterol and increasing HDL cholesterol. Some ingredients have also been shown to reduce plaque in the arteries and reduce triglycerides. Guggul resin extract is also known for its anti-inflammatory properties. Studies have shown that plant sterols, garlic and cayenne pepper all have cholesterol reducing properties but the amount used in these studies were higher than the amounts in this supplement. For example in a study using 2 grams of plant sterols per day participants lowered their cholesterol by 8-10%. This supplement contains 400 mg of plant sterols. I think this means that the supplement should be part of a heart healthy diet and exercise routine to show significant benefits. My husband has been eating healthy and exercising and his cholesterol is still high. He is adding this to his routine. We will not know the results for a couple of months. Bottom line, this is a legitimate, high quality product.
