My dog had squamous cell carcinoma. I was giving her Fenbendazole to treat the cancer and I gave her this brand of Milk thistle to protect her liver during the treatment.
Even though I was giving her very high dose Fenben, this product protected her liver the entire time. I was getting labs monthly while treating her and this product did it’s job.
I did not rate flavor or ability to swallow at all, I don’t know.
Nature’s Bounty is one of 2/3 brands that I tend to trust and have for many years.
BTW… my dog is fantastic and tumor free!!!!!

I have used this supplement for many years. It is consistently a good product. I trust Nature’s Bounty! I use this to safely lower my Cholesterol and to cleanse my Liver at the same time. It is a Win/Win for me! It is a capsule so there is no flavor. You simply start by taking 1 a day and after about 10 days you can increase it to 2 a day which is what I have done. A friend of mine takes 3 a day but as in all supplements, it is wise to start with 1 a day and then gradually increase as needed. Even though it is all natural, the body still needs to adjust to new dosages. Muscle Response Testing is a great way to be sure you are taking only what your body actually needs.

It REALLY works! I used it in 2 of my dogs. One of them, Jerry, 12 years old Collie, has a 6cm tumor on liver, found it in April on an anual ECO control, and although benign, has altered him internally. His liver values (enzimes and lipidic values and cholesterol) were a mess. Another one, Jr, 9 years old Collie, had inflamed liver and goldbladder (English not my first language so appologies in advance for gramatical errors), and even higher levels of fat and cholesterol in blood. Their Vet put them both on same treatment: Milk Thistle with lunch (different dosage each as they weight different), 1 Omega 3 super strenght capsule on evening, special diet (Royal Canin Weight Control), and 1 capsule of UDCA before bed. After 50 days we tested them both again (that’s why I didn’t review this and other products sooner: wanted to make sure about their effectiveness): Jerry has improoved A LOT! He still needs to continue treatment, as he turned out to be Hipothyroid as well and waiting also results for Cushing. His breath doesn’t stink anymore, his appetite is normal again, his stamina too! Jr did even better! No longer needs Milk Thistle (I am now giving him a lower dose capsule per day for another month anyway to not lower dosage bruscally), no longer takes UDCA, yet still needs Omega and in higher doses (Vet believes could also be due to Cushing’s as tested negative for Hipothyroidism). Trully recommend Nature’s Bounty Milk Thistle: it was and still is a KEY INGREDIENT for optimum liver function and never caused any bad reaction. Hope it works for you too!

I do not have much experience with this brand but I’ve been assured it is pure and actually Milk Thistle is Milk Thistle no matter how it is bottled or branded. It is offered in different forms and extracts. But this is actual Milk Thistle. I like the quantity and price. The bottles are sealed well and the date codes are recent. I take Milk Thistle to try to keep my liver working well. It was damaged due to a virus I had which thankfully was cured by medications prescribed. Now I use Milk Thistle to keep my liver as clean and as functional as possible. I personally believe in Milk Thistle as and herbal remedy. My liver has remained stable since being cured and I am very grateful there are herbal remedies like Milk Thistle that are known to help.
