I always keep goldenseal root in the house due to it’s multiple health benefits. When my last bottle ran out, I decided to try the BioKrauter Liquid Goldenseal Root Tincture for multiple reasons. To start, The product comes in a brown glass bottle, keeping light from degrading the tincture and glass keeps the product’s quality pristine. Additionally, the product is vegan, non-GMO, alcohol and sugar free, made in a GMP certified facility, and third party tested. Furthermore, not only do you get a two fluid ounce bottle, which is 84 servings, but you also get 670 mg of goldenseal root in each serving. Serving size is one full dropper. The main ingredient is organic goldenseal, (hydrastis canadensis) (root), and the other ingredients are certified organic vegetable glycerin (a sugar alcohol), and purified water.
The bottle has an expiration date and what appears to be a lot number. It the manufacturer’s name, address, phone number, email, and website are all on the bottle. The bottle has a very professional label on it, the top is shrink wrapped for safety, and the dropper is glass. It is suggested that you take the product in two ounces of juice or water, but I took it directly from the dropper, like always. The product is brown in color, has that strong goldenseal root flavor, but the sweetness of the glycerin helps it go down, with just a touch of goldenseal root aftertaste. But for those of you that have not tasted goldenseal before, there is not too much that completely could cover that taste, but this does a pretty good job. Although the product tastes sweet, glycerin is a sugar alcohol, so this product is okay for those avoiding sugar and carbs. Finally, the box, bottle, and Amazon ad, all state “German Technology”, but they don’t why this is important, other than it ensures premium quality and high absorption.
Overall, this product has all of the earmarks I seek when looking for a quality product, glass bottle, glass dropper, expiration date, lot number, GMP certified factory, non-GMO, organic, no sugar or carbs, shrink wrapped, all of the manufacturer’s info on the bottle and a really great price point. Five stars.

Our family uses a lot of supplements. Many I grow myself, echinacea, lion’s mane, and last year I invested in 2 dozen goldenseal bare root plants from a native wildflower nursery. They need 80-90% shade, so they’re great to plant in the woods. They can also be grown in or out of pots under a shade cloth. Goldenseal used to populate many places, but like ginseng, it was harvested to near extinction. (We plant ginseng in our woods also). Amazon sells a great book called Farming the Woods where you can get a lot of information if you have access to woods and want to grow some great plants and perhaps set up a future harvest for your family, or even a future revenue stream.
Why did I order the Bio Krauter Goldenseal Root if I’m growing my own? Well, when you buy plants, you pay $4-5 for a root piece. If it has a nodule, it’ll grow, so the pieces you get are 2-4″ long. Since you harvest the root of the plant, I want to make sure my woods are quite full before I start harvesting my own.
Not just that, I have so far ordered about 5 products from Bio Krauter. I’ve been exceedingly pleased with all of them! They call them a tincture, but they are actually a glycerite because they’re made with glycerin instead of alcohol. Both tinctures and glycerites are extracts, but glycerine give a sweet taste while alcohol tends to be harsh. I prefer the glycerine extracts because we prefer to avoid alcohol and it’s better to use for children.
Bio Krauter uses organic goldenseal and organic glycerin and then only purified water. A lot of their extracts come in both 2 and 4 oz sizes and I always get the 4 oz when they’re available because they’re a better deal. The 2 oz size might be enough if you’re single and won’t use the extract up before the expiration date, but the 4 oz goldenseal for less than $15 is an amazing price. Heck, for what I paid for my goldenseal root pieces, I’ll probably just keep ordering from them!
I have ‘go to’ companies when I’m looking for supplements. For extracts, my new go to is Bio Krauter and I wish I’d found them a long time ago!

Product does not look like Goldenseal or taste like Goldenseal. Product is very light in color and has a sweet taste. One reviewer stated it was more glycerin than Goldenseal. As for effectiveness of product I have no idea how it works. I stopped using it I would not buy this product again. I prefer my Goldenseal to look like and taste like Goldenseal.

See above. Not meant for tasting. They are certain ways to use this product. I made a mixture for curing bacteria in the gums. It was great! For me, the mixture was taking the place of antibiotics.
