My traditional Chinese mother-in-law said Dong Quai should be taken for the 3 weeks you are not on your period and then go off of it during the 1 week you get your period. Otherwise, you’ll have a month long period, since Dong Quai is excellent at restoring the blood. This cycle has worked well for me for a long time and I appreciate that my system is much healthier and regular now. My periods were short, light, and blood was dark. With this, my periods went from being 1 day long to 4 days long, and blood was a healthier bright red and overall was heavier, just like when it was in my youth! My aim is to preserve my fertility and having a healthy period is crucial! By the way, I’m finally expecting, after 2 years of trying, yay!

I’m in surgically induced menopause and life was pretty darn miserable.
It took about 60 days to get the full benefit, but i could tell a difference even after a couple days!! I started out taking 4 a day and now I’m down to two. I use this and amberen (which is another menopausal support supplement) combined. The amberen helped, but didn’t quite cut it. I looked on the FDA website and discovered they recommended Dong Quai as an alternative to HRT.

Dong Quai is a must for anyone having hot flashes!!! During peri-menopause, all I needed was one a day. I started taking three a day since my headlong five into the ‘change’. I next to never have hot flashes!!! (Can’t say never, never, but super freaking close!)
