I recently ordered this Iwi Life Heart Omega-3, 60 Softgels (30 Servings), Vegan Plant-Based Algae Omega Fatty Acids + EPA, Heart Health Support Dietary Supplement, Krill & Fish Oil Alternative, No Fishy Aftertaste and feel like it is a good product and no fishy aftertaste.

I consider a good Omega 3 supplement to be essential in my personal stack. This is mostly due to the purported health benefits and the fact that I don’t eat much fish. That said, I was excited to give this a try.
The company seems transparent in their desire to provide a quality product. When the package arrived, it was intact and the safety seal was securely on the bottle. When I opened it up, I was hit with a smell that could best be described as old dry urine. Needless to say, I was not going to consume something with that smell. I can only assume the fatty acids oxidized and went rancid in the bottle. Excessive exposure to heat could have been the culprit, which may not have been the fault of the manufacturer, but it is hard to say. It likely sat too long in a warehouse or delivery vehicle and went bad.
Because of the above issue, I can’t really recommend this one way or the other.

Heart by Iwi Life in USA. This is not a typical Omega supplement. It is full spectrum Omega with 3,6,7, and 9 fatty acids plus their proprietary nutrient ‘Almega PL’ PL meaning polar lipid. This is a micro algae purportedly better absorption than fish/krill oils.It is grown in manmade farms in USA, leaving the ocean alone. They provide third party testing/analysis of purity to show we are getting nothing but the promised product. They have a very good web page with impressive information and photos of their farms. I have been taking these small soft gel caps for a few weeks, I wasn’t sure of the seaweed content at first for my situation personally but thought this may help my poor eyesight, although it is sold for heart nourishing. I am assured of the quality and like the ethics.

As someone who prefers vegan alternatives for omega fatty acid supplements, I was intrigued by the concept of Iwi Life Heart Omega-3 softgels. The idea of obtaining essential nutrients without relying on fish-derived sources appealed to me, given concerns about pollution and sustainability.
Before ordering, I conducted thorough research into the product and the company behind it. What I discovered was quite fascinating: unlike traditional fish oil supplements, Iwi Life Omega-3 softgels are not sourced from natural aquatic environments. Instead, they are manufactured in the desert within the United States, in a controlled, man-made environment. This innovative approach piqued my interest and reassured me about the product’s quality and purity.
In addition to the company’s commitment to sustainability I also appreciate that they test to verify the absence of contaminants and heavy metals in their supplements. Knowing that the softgels are verified for purity provided me with peace of mind regarding their safety and efficacy. However, one slight disappointment was the relatively short shelf life of the product. The bottle I received had only six months of shelf life remaining, hence the minus half star. While this is sufficient time to use the product, I typically prefer a bit more flexibility in this regard.

Good fish oil substitute, but I can’t recommend it for the cost unless there’s some other reason why this brand attracts you. I can at least say I think it’s vegan.

This supplement is made by a good company with a revolutionary way of growing its algae – in the desert, on land not usable for much else, and using underground salt water rather than fresh water. This keeps the algae free from ocean contaminants and does not disrupt the ocean during production or deplete the fresh water table. I had already pretty much switched from using fish oils to using algae for omega 3s, to avoid the metals and toxins that can build up in even small fish, and to eat as low on the food chain as possible. This supplement is rich in omega 3s, 7s and 9s, with a bonus of the antioxidant chlorophyll – all good. The capsules are clean and well-packaged, with a light non-fishy odor which is a little earthy. Expiration date is about a year from when I received it. I love this product and would definitely recommend it.

I like the ingredients in this supplement, lots of Omegas! The pills are coated and easy to swallow for me. If you have an issue with larger pills, these might be a problem for you, they are a little on the bulky side.

I’m really happy with these supplements! I’ve been taking vegan omega supplements for awhile and love being able to get the benefits, without animal products and the fishy aftertaste. I haven’t noticed any aftertaste or upset stomach at all while using. In addition, the company claims that the absorbency is better than fish oil so it’s a win win.
I also love that the company is devoted to sustainability and ensuring that the supplement ingredients are high quality and grown safely, in the US. The only downside it the price. At $42 (at the time of this review) for a 30 day supply, they are more expensive than other brands I’ve used. However, I have only been taking 1 per day due to getting other omega-3 sources in my diet.
