I bought this supplement because it was recommended by “selfdecode” which is a website that interprets your DNA results to see how the different genes can affect health.
For me personally this supplement causes my entire body to feel incredibly relaxed like I just took 1500mg of Acetaminophen! According to my DNA I am very immune to the effects of CBD oil so I can take massive amounts and feel no effects. However, this Sodium Butyrate seems to work fantastic as an anti inflammatory supplement with similar results as what people claim CBD oil does! It continues to have consistent effects even after 3 weeks of use with no signs of building a tolerance!
Im not exaggerating when I say I feel soooo relaxed I could fall asleep on a hard wood floor. Yup, that happened 🙂 (No alcohol was involved haha).
I did’nt notice any kind of boost in cognitive function as some people do, but its possible it is in fact boosting my brains ability to produce certain hormones which in turn make me relaxed. Everyone is different and may have different effects. At this price its worth trying out.
Warning: At higher dosages (2 capsules twice daily) I began feeling tooo relaxed which made me feel like I needed to urinate often. At the higher dosage mentioned, the feeling of needing to urinate was only noticeable when laying in bed. During the day it wasnt noticeable at all. This was especially annoying when trying to fall asleep. I eventually reduced dosage to 1 capsule daily before bed.

I love this, it sorts the gut out. Its a good product and the smell is perfectly fine as its live and real, not dead! Its splendid and my consultant recommended this product, its a good make too.

This product didn’t work as desired for me. I have a sensitivity to Calcium in supplements I didn’t consider before trying this product. The product is very hyped online and touted as the best product out there but I also didn’t consider the type of magnesium in it. The fact that it’s magnesium hydroxide should be pointed out on the front label. Anyway I got a lot of side effects to this product that I wasn’t able to see if there was any of the medicinal benefits that are discussed about this supplement.

Easy to swallow capsules but they are on the larger side. They do have a “romano cheese” smell but that is normal. They seem to be helping with my digestion issues, so I’m happy about that.

Smells a little bit like cheese, but other than that it is an excellent supplement for improved digestion and getting rid of leaky gut.

Ok, I read this is painful for a few weeks, and yes, it is, when you first start taking it, the pain and gas are no good, but it will subside in a few days. I also take one per day and some days I alternate on and off. But when I stopped taking it, my belly was bad again so it definitely works and it will smooth out over a few days. It is SMELLY, but once it is down, you don’t notice. Works well, stopped my gagging when brushing my teeth and helped me sleep longer hours. Highly Recommend.

My dermatologist recommended I take this. he told me he has studied a lot about butyrate and was so convinced by how beneficial it is, that he wanted me to add it to my acne regimen. He told me to start with one a day with meals, and build up to a max of 6 a day. I had (had!!! 🙂 a severe case of cystic acne…hormonal and genetic…after months of antibiotic treatment, I had recurring thrush (yeast) in my mouth. I am now off antibiotics, and have not had a laser treatment in 6 months. I have not had a yeast recurrence since starting this product. I also have celiac disease so my gut is very sensitive. From my research I can see why he wanted me to take it. It is good for someone who has been on a lot of antibiotics, since it is a prebiotic. He told me the short chain fatty acids would help unclog my pores and help manage the sebum issues that contribute to the acne. My skin is doing very well, however I believe the primary reason is that I have hormonal acne and part of my acne treatment involved going on hormonal birth control to manage it. I was supposed to start accutane, but I am doing so well I feel like I will just keep taking this supplement along with my topical prescriptions and the birth control. I am just thrilled to be off antibiotics, off the anti-yeast medications, and not having to go in for laser treatments every 4 weeks!
I am happy with the affordable price on Amazon. It is much more expensive buying direct, I was charged $11 shipping buying it direct from bodybio site, bringing my total to about $70 for a bottle of 250 capsules. I compared the bottles and opened the capsules from each container, the one I purchased direct from bodybio and the one from amazon, and everything appears identical. I tasted the contents of each capsule. I was wondering why it is so much cheaper on amazon and wanted to make sure it was exactly the same product. From my non-clinical observations, they are exactly the same so I will be buying it on amazon from now on. The powder tasted awful,…salty actually…but I guess thats just how it tastes! bottom line, I will continue taking this product, it is beneficial for anyone with acne, anyone who has been on antibiotics, has gut issues or autoimmune disease such as celiac.
