I had a functional medicine dr who identified low iodine in me years ago and gave me this. No access to these docs today but wqs feeling as I had then so decided to go back on it. I noticed a difference in a couple days. If you’re not getting enough iodine in your food, you may need some supplementation. Just be aware you can also get too much. Not enough, poor thyroid function. Too much, same thing.

I use it for 2 months now and I really see a difference. I will buy some for sure.

The bottle has no label, BUT it is still the exact same great product INSIDE. label is missing because Canada has very poor and outdated nutrient dosage recommendations for Iodine as compared to the US, where you can advertise iodine in larger doses than the Canadian ridiculous amount of 800mcg which is less than 1 MG!!! Iodoral is a US product and comes in 12.5 MG & even 50 MG in the US. So i can understand why the label is withdrawn for Canadian market. Nothing to be concerned about and a minor insignificant detail in my book. Will still continue to order this amazing, one-of-a-kind product, as usual.

So many great things about this! Benefits to health straight across the board! A little expensive so hopefully price will come down?
Update: received another bottle today and there is no label at all and only a bar code?! How dangerous is that?? Will be sending this one back and expect a properly labeled one!

I Started to take Optimox Iodoral 12.5 mg because my serum Iodine levels were low and also I read Dr. Brownstein’s book and felt comfortable to take the iodoral. A month ago I started to take 12.5 mg. but I did not feel too much change, then I increased to 25 mg. or two pills, then within a few days I got a lot of energy which was very low and no headaches (that was my problem). Then I was afraid to continue taking 25mg and went back to 12.5 until I check with my family doctor and he said it was ok. but the las two week I find that I can not walk well, I developed increases left uncle and feet pain and also the lower extremities it feel like severe arthritis pain, I never that this severe pains before. I am stopping and go back to seaweed or kelp that contains iodine also. I have also leaky gut which does not help with the absorption of nutrients or I react very easy to supplements or drugs.
Update;
After stopping this iodine for a months and not seen any improvement in the pains on my feet, I decided to start taking it again to see what happen. After a week I saw slight improvement so I decides to take one and day in the morning plus another supplement MNM that help me to increase the ATP and these two combination was the answer to see the pain almost gone.

Great way to take your iodine. I have been taking iodine for almost one year in order to help regulate my hormones. I have a history of fybrocystic breasts and needed something to help alleviate the pain. I started off taking Lugols 2% in liquid form but quickly realized that if I really want to stick with it, I needed another way of getting it in my system cause Lugols has a horrible taste. Taking these have been a godsend. I am now able to easily take my 50mg!

I’ve taken this product on and off for years. Never had complaints. However, I’ve noticed with recent orders a drop in quality control with consistency.

I was cautious about using iodine but after careful investigation and weighing the options am very glad to have started. This version of Iodoral is only 12.5 mg. I know it will take longer to reach maximum effect but I feel better taking things slow. Have noticed a significant reduction in cherry angiomas and skin tags. Very satisified.

I went to my doctor with hypothyroid symptoms about 4 years ago. At the same time I was struggling with severe stomach cramps. I was constantly exhausted and during the winter months I was literally dysfunctional. I never felt rested no matter how much I slept, had hard time getting up in the morning and staying awake. During the day there were maybe 3-4 hours when I was able to think clearly. By the time I got home from work I crashed and slept for hours. There were nights I slept 15 hours and still woke up groggy and exhausted. I was constantly freezing, and aching. After a blood test my doctor said I am borderline hypo but not enough to prescribe medication. So I went on another 3 years struggling with my symptoms. During those years I gained 30lbs while eating healthy. No amount of cutting back on calories helped, and I was too exhausted to excercise. This time a general physical done by my employer revealed that I have hypothyroidism well beyond borderline. So i was put on a low level of synthroid. Over the last 2 years I have been changed from .05 to .50 to .75 and this last time .100. Each time I had to go back to my doc to say I am still exhausted I am still struggling. Each time he checked my Ts I was at a lower level. 2 months after I was put on .100 I finally had enough, After I was put on .100 my Blood Pressure went up! I had headaches every day. I figured this could go on forever until my thyroid just burns itself out completely or I get a stroke. I could not longer loose valuable time from work and my life. I started to research the internet about options. First I found the natural thyroid, but finding a doctor would not be easy and the cost associated with it would not work for me. Then finally I stumbled on articles about Iodine Deficiency and I decided to try it. I have been taking 2 pills a day with 1 selenium to help the absorption. I also found Thyroid Support capsules at the local health food store, which contains some additional iodine as well as magnesium, B12 and some other thyroid supporting minerals. I have been taking all these plus my thyroid medicine for the last month and a half and I feel a big difference. I can get up a lot easier, no longer need the hot baths in the morning to stop the aching and the freezing and I am actually productive at work and at home again. My sleeping pattern improved a lot. Even my co-workers noted that I no longer look drained as I used to. It is fall right now, usually this is the time when my energy starts to slump even more. I am ordering my second bottle of Iodine and plan to keep taking it throughout the winter and see how it goes. I read it could take up to 6 months for iodine to accumulate properly before I can drop the amount. – I will keep this review up to date with progress. I will be going back to the doc to schedule a new blood test to see how I am doing.I am disappointed though that I had to go through all this to possibly find a solution on my own.
SUGGESTIONS: I take all the supplements, including the thyroid med in the morning before breakfast. Also, I have not felt any side effects that others have mentioned. Even my headaches decreased considerably.
JANUARY UPDATE: I have been taking Iodoral for 3 months now and I am about to order my 3rd bottle. I am currently taking 1 pill a day. I am still taking Selenium, and the Thyroid Support Capsules. In November I added liquid B12 and Vitamin D. I am about to add some NAC and probiotics. My GP commented that Selenium will make my hair fall out, so I am watching that but truthfully, I have a lot less hairloss now than I had when i was not treated for hypo. It is January and I am happy to report that my energy did not slump yet, even through I had a horribly stressful December. I did not gain any weight, even though I did not really excercise. I am about to start that now. I did however reduce my Synthroid from 100 to 50 (without the approval of my doc). Every time I took the 100, I got migraines and high blood pressure. I feel better now overall. Not 100% but getting there. One major improvement I noticed was that my chronic pain is almost gone. I used to have bad joint pain everywhere so bad that I could hardly walk. I was often worried I would fall down the steps one day. This is almost completely gone. I do not know if it was due to the iodine or the combination of all the other supplements, but I am glad that the pain is now manageable. The next 3 months will be crucial, as Jan – March is the time when I get the worst brain-fog and the weight just creeps up daily. In the past 7 years I managed to maintain my weight throughout the year or drop a few, just to gain 10lbs in less than a month in January. I will report back to see how I do this year on all these supplements.
MAY UPDATE: I ran out of Iodoral around end of March and I felt good enought to risk not reordering. I figured I see if there is any change in a month or so. My eneregy lasted all winter, apart from a few bad days. I did have a week at the end of March when I gained some extra weigh but it came back down in a month or so. My body temperatures increased in the mornings. I was freezing less and less. I went from having an average 97.3 in November to 97.7 around January and then up to 98.3 around Feb-March, during the coldest months. First year in many years that my energy felt more normal. – To be truthful, I think the fact that i supplemented 1000 IU vitamin D daily helped a lot. While I think vit D and B12 helped me through winter, the fact remains that these only plug the hole on the underlying issue I still have.
It is May and the only thing I continue to take is 0.5 mcg Synthroid, 1000 IUVitamin D, Thyroid Complete (contain zinc, magnesium, iodine, copper, molybdenum), probiotic in the morning and iron and calcium in the evenings. I will have an appointment with a functional doctor in June, which is when I will have her tell me what I should and should not continue to take.

Been using this for years with Immucore. Have not had to be on thyroid meds, and I’m in my 50’s.
