I have had tinnitus for a decade, but in the last few years it has come on very strong. At times so loud, debilitating and I feel so helpless. Went to the ENT doc, who recommended a hearing aid to mask the sound. But my insurance did not cover, so he asked me to try lipo-flavonoid. I took 6-8 a day for at least 5 months, with some success. Reduction of volume and frequency of about 30 to 50 percent. Because it is expensive (500 tablets on Amazon for $110) i stopped using last October. Several months went by and the tinnitus returned with such severity I could not even stand it and though or very serious alternatives. After a month, I gave in and spent the $110 again and immediately began taking 6-8 lipo-flavonoids per day. I started March 1 and after about 7-10 days I noticed a significant improvement. Obviously I do not know if it is the L-F or just an up and down event. Anyway, i have now been taking 6-8 per day for 7 weeks, and during this time had one significant event for about 5 or 6 days. But that is all, compared to the almost weekly events not on the L-F. I will know more at about a 6 month basis. The main constraint is that at 200 tablets a month, this is a $40 month OTC expense, so it is not cheap. I wish there were generics or this company lost its patent or something so it is cheaper. In any case, the bottom line is that evidently for some people there will be no benefit. For others, there will be. I would tell people to try it at least for 3 months, take 6-8 per day. You should know by then. For me, It reduces the volume and severity of the tones in my head by about 55-80 percent depending on I don’t know what. I know of know one that has gotten sick off of this, despite the one review I read here where someone said they did. That would seem to me to be very rare. This past January I had a stuffy left ear with 30db hearing loss. I was diagnosed with Eustachian Tube Dysfunction and over the next 3 months most of my symptoms resolved and my hearing for the most part came back. However the tinnitus in my left ear remained. My last ENT visit the Dr. told me it might be here for good and let me know there were some cognitive therapies that they can recommend if it became more bothersome. I was also averaging one or two days a week needing sound masking to fall asleep. On my way out of the ENT office the doctor gave me a sample packet of these pills and told me I could try them. I purchased this with high hopes against the advice of my ENT doctor to relieve a 20 year tinnitus problem. I took two caplets three time a day approximately 40 days as directed on the packaging. I didn’t notice any difference in either ear. I had a follow-ip appointment with my ENT and she explained why this product is simply another supplement marketing gimmick. Furthermore it was a PITA to get a refund despite the claims of a 60 day money back guarantee right on the Amazon product page. I initially attempted to return it online via Amazon’s easy returns process. However I was told it was not returnable even though the product page makes no mention of this no return policy and in fact has a bold 60 day money back guarantee advertised! The only solution offered was to contact the manufacturer for support using the phone number they provided. I contacted the representative at the number provided and was informed they have no money back guarantee and to contact Amazon. WTF! it is clearly stated in the product page! I ended up disputing the Amazon charge with my Amazon Chase card and received a refund about 6 weeks later. However the bogus 60 day money back guarantee is STILL on the Amazon product page. BEWARE! You have been warned!
