These are not the best tasting but for two elderly seniors we take these every fall all the way through to spring and have very few illness related issues to flu etc. I can’t swear this will work for everyone but it has proven to work for us. The first time I used an elderberry product was about 3 years ago when my elderly husband came down with a very zealous case of the flu. He was close to hospitalization. I was his care giver and I did have to take him to the ER. He took the prescribed medications along with elderberry and I used elderberry to try to avoid getting sick so I could care for him. I didn’t get sick and he was well sooner than others with the same illness. Since that time we have taken these one per day each from fall to spring.

This is a great product. I use these at night when my throat and mouth get dry. They taste great when I first put them in my mouth, but the reason I did not give a 5 star is that they leave a bit of odd taste in my mouth after I have had it in my mouth a while. This may just be me, however, as I know several things I have this problem with.
Anyway, the ingredients alone make them worth trying. They are more expensive than the mentholated candy that is sold as “cough drops,” but that is to be expected for a quality product like this.

I reach for this specific brand and product any time I feel “a tickle in my throat” or find myself clearing my throat often during seasonal pollen and other environmental irritants. The simplicity of the ingredients and the reliance on traditional treatments — like chamomile tea and honey, saltines and flat clear soda, etc — feel good in a variety of ways! While there is a LOT of plastic involved in the packaging, I will continue to keep these lozenges in my daily use bag and my carryon. Hopefully there will be a change in packaging to return to something like the tins of loose lozenges in starch powder I recall from 20+ years ago. The option to subscribe & save is very handy as I am receiving three packs on my timing, and I can modify frequency and/or amount as needed. Great product.

I love elderberry but I am not a fan of the hard candy version. There is an aftertaste I do not like. I prefer a syrup. However, these are great for travel or to keep a few with you if you just start feeling blah. It’s still good to boost your immune system.
