If you are like me who started to gain weight out of the blue in her midsection area when it had never been an issue in the past, it is terrifying since it was so quick. I am not recommending anything, just sharing my experience not focused on weight loss. It seems insurance changes the brand or whatever of certain medications I take to manage my glucose and suddenly I can’t fill the prescription. I ran out of Metformin, couldn’t refill, and didn’t have the time to jump the hoops. I quickly began having issues with spiking and just very high glucose.
I’m not a supplement guy at all but I did some research, found some science for Berberine, and the product reviews looked good here.
After 2-3 days I didn’t notice any change, nor did I expect much. Thinking it may need some time I continued taking it and at the end of week one it seemed as though I was not spiking and maybe leveling off a bit lower. I continued taking it.
Now this could be in my head, like a placebo affect but… at some point in the next two-three weeks I realized I was back to my normal levels and with only a few alerts. I’d also become active. Working in my yard, starting projects, and doing things I used to enjoy but always was to be tired for. Now I’ve noticed I’m in a legit good mood on a regular basis. Work is better, home is better, things just seem better.
I read more of the research (recognized institutional, peer reviewed) and there are findings discussing this. I did not see conclusions, just early findings.
Anyway, if it’s all in my head then my mental powers seem to be as or more effective than Metformin. I will be discussing all this when I meet with my doctor in a couple of weeks but for now I intend to continue to take Berberine and am incredibly happy with this brand.

I have been buying this product for several years and have been happy with the quality and consistency. However, my most recent delivery was just the opposite. The package was not damaged in any way, but upon opening the air-tight seal I found the capsules about half-to-three-quarters full. There was yellow powder loose in the jar and covering the capsules. The loose powder is very bitter and unappetizing and you don’t want to taste it. I have received no satisfaction concerning my complaints from either Amazon or the seller. I will never buy this product again, and this is a serious black mark against Amazon for their failure to make restitution. There are plenty of other brands out there, and other suppliers.
