Not sure how I managed with my other single pill cutter for so long. THIS IS A MUST BUY if you are having to cut pills (literally of any size or shape) on a regular basis. It works SO well. I’ve only faced one issue, a pill or two slipped in the inside opening and I had to shake it to get it out. but honestly, if that is the worst of the issues, I’ll take it. I’m so glad I bought this. With my dexterity, fine motor, and strength skills being limited and compromised, this is SO easy for me to use. Just pour out some pills, straighten pills, and line up the two bars, then push down to cut.

The vet gave me pills for my cat that need to be given in 1/4-tablet doses. The large-diameter pills are relatively soft, scored, and easy to break by hand as the vet instructed, but they are nearly impossible to break uniformly; they are somewhat crumbly and would rarely break cleanly where scored, so the doses would be quite inconsistent. It seemed some doses were more like a third of a pill than a quarter, and some closer to a sixth of a pill. I decided to try this product to break the pills more evenly for proper dosing. I assumed I would need to split them in half, then turn them and cut in the other direction to get the needed quarters. To my amazement and delight, this device not only cut the pills cleanly and uniformly, I found upon opening the cutter that the single cut had made each pill split into its four equal quarters from just that single cut. I don’t know if it would always work that way or if it worked on these pills only because they are relatively thin, soft tablets, but what a delight. Just line ‘em up, press down, and within moments I had a whole bottle of perfectly quartered pills. A really good item to have on hand!

When new this did a fairly good job and custs multiple pills cleanly. However it cost £23, and despite being stored in a warm dry room, its blade rusted in only three months, it now crushes many tablets that it once cut cleanly. At this cost it should have a durable preferable stainless steel blade. S stanely knive blade stored in a damp garage would have lasted MUCH longer.
For a pill cutter this expensive, that is used ony once a week, a 3 month lifepsan is utterly annaccpetable in my view. With this quality of blade its price should be nearer £5 or less.

This pill splitter does a much better job than what I can do by hand of splitting pills into equal halves. Sometimes it cuts small, hard, domed pills slightly off-center, but it’s very accurate for larger, flatter pills.
The blade is protected by a spring-loaded guard. While this is a useful safety feature, the guard makes cleaning the blade somewhat challenging. Some pills leave a fair amount of residue on the blade which would transfer to other pills or possibly gum up the blade if it absorbs moisture from the air.
Overall I’m satisfied with how this pill splitter functions. It does save quite a bit of time, especially when I split several loads of the same pills in one session.

WOW. so i have been splitting pills for some years, one is a coated sort of rounded pill and the other is a regular scored uncoated white pill. i needed a pill cutter for the coated one. The white one i try to do with my finger nails because the pill cutter doesn’t do a good job of it. always frustrating, one out of 20 times it comes out about right. so i have continued to use a cheap one i got at CVS and later i got the same kind on Amazon. It worked ok, not great, in the sense it didn’t cut evenly and i needed evenness, pretty uniform doses. I got another one on Amazon, basically the same functioning as the first one, not very even, and the blad gets dull so that it gets worse over time. But the blade would wear out before too long.
Now, in the past month my previously healthy almost 13 year old dog got right sided congestive heart failure and severe pulmonary hypertension and he’s supposed to be on 4 meds, one of which i have to split–the form it comes in is called “Quads” and it’s scored to cut in quarters. Doing it with my finger nails was too inexact. The usual pill cutter about the same. So i came to Amazon and i only looked at the ones with 4.5 star reviews. This was one of the top reviewed ones. The reviews sounded really good. And there was the ability to cut multiple pills at once. Too good to be true, yet so many happy reviewers. $30??? ok, it’s my dog and he’s in real trouble and needs his meds to be right. so i ordered it. It was delivered very fast .
So, i got into trying it out right away. This is probably just me, brain dead from recent stress. but i had a hard time figuring out how to open it in order to put the pills in. The instructions on the box didn’t help. i found a video on line and still didn’t have the concept of it, the specific way you push on the ends of the cutter to have it open up. Slowly, i found how to do it but then would immediately forget, even watching it on the video. For me, it was counterintuitive.
But finally i started getting the feel for it and the concept of it. not rocket science but for me, at that point in time, it took me about 20 to 30 minutes to get it figured out solid. i experienced frustration. No doubt just the difficulties i have been having getting the medications right, like giving it to him and then later finding it on the floor (one of the three pills) , or me just forgetting to give all of them to him, there are 4 different occasions throughout the day. i sometimes outright forgot, even setting a timer. So i got a great app that reminds you which also took a long time to get set up but now is good.
i really don’t think it’s that hard to open this cutter to put pills in it, i think my difficulties were caused by my anxiety unrelated to the pill cutter. i was pushing on the sides the way i thought it should work and nothing happened. press real hard, no response.
So once i could easily open and close it, i followed the instructions and put several pills in it. i hadn’t really thought i wanted a multiple pill cutter, just a well functioning single pill cutter would be a dream come true. The first cut i made was uneven. i tried it again more carefully and it was as close to perfect as i could want. I got a bunch more, all excellent, so now i have a big collection of doses and i don’t have to think about it anymore. Thank you Multiple Pill Splitter for greatly improving my quality of life.
I then went to my own pills, the coated ones that are hard as a rock. they are rounded, no flat surfaces. so ididn’t think they could be cut accurately in the position this pill cutter uses. i put a bunch in there and they were split as equally as i could need, i couldn’t see difference in them, not what i’m used to. Before this pill cutter, i was always taking the larger piece and breaking a bit off of it to add to the smaller piece. 🙁
Now, i have a huge collection of evenly cut half pills. This is one of those really good product experiences that makes me feel happy when i think about it. It totally works, way better than hoped for or imagined. i didn’t even realize how wonderfut it would be to have a supply of already split pills and not have to even think about cutting them.
i have only used it on those few attempts on the day i got it so i don’t know if it holds up, but i can see that i’m not even going to have to use it very often because it cuts so many at once so i’m expecting it to last. If i have any unreasonably negative experiecnes or unsupported customer service, i’ll update the review, but i do not expect to have any problem. Solid easy to use multi pill cutter with great blade.

実際は1/2が限界のように思えます。

Loading the small pills requires manual dexterity that this senior is beginning to lose, but is manageable. Loading larger pills requires the be loaded at an angle, again requiring manual dexterity. The included 1/4 page instruction sheet explains its use. It split pills quite accurately, without “powdering” my pills, but according to the instructions it will break or crumble some pills that are not meant to be split. The manufacturer states they will refund or help in anyway they can in that situation. This splitter is noticeably faster and less frustrating than using a single pill splitter. It seems to be well designed and constructed. It is large, which helps those of us who have lost some manual dexterity. I’m pretty cost conscious, and saw many pill splitters that cost less, and have one of those, but I think the ease of use and the quality makes this a good value.
