My 8yr old son always gets really bad eczema on his hands during the winter. In the past I’ve tried different name brand hand creams/baby lotions/aloe but nothing seemed to really help and most of the time, would actually sting his rash. I’m a big fan of manuka honey and we’ve been using it for years for colds and wound care. However strait manuka, though powerful for healing, can sting on sore skin and is too messy to use without wrapping the area. Then it occurred to me to look for manuka body creams to see if that would have the healing benefits without the sting. I ordered 3 different products… Green Leaf naturals eczema cream, Honeyskin ultimate body cream (mango coconut scent), and Manuka Relief. The first one smelled so bad that my son wouldn’t even try it. We liked the other two and decided to try one on each hand. Over the next few days, Manuka Relief became his favorite and he stopped using the Honeyskin. Within a few more days his eczema was completely cleared!!! I was amazed. I thought it would help but didn’t realize how fast. Also my son loved everything about it. It’s smooth and creamy(the honeyskin, although having a wonderful scent, was really thick to apply), has a light, pleasant scent, and… the best part… didn’t sting but actually felt soothing on his sore skin! The product is more expensive then others I was looking at and out of the ones I purchased, however, it was completely worth it since it ACTUALLY works!! And good, TRUE manuka honey is very expensive. By the way, out of the 3 products I tried, this was the ONLY one that included the MGO rating which shows the potency of the manuka in the product. To me, that shows the quality of the product. Just to show how well this product really made a difference, I’ll give one more example. My son had been applying every night before bed. Well a few weeks later, I noticed the eczema was back. I asked it he’d been using his cream. He said he’d forgotten for the last few days/week. So we went back to using it daily and it cleared just as fast as it returned. That’s how I know this product really works!!! So happy to have found something that not only works, but is completely natural, which is something I strive for, if and when possible. I would definitely recommend for skin issues as a gentle treatment option. One other thing to point out is that I was pleasantly surprised with the packaging when it arrived. The photo on here must be the older jar because what I received(pictured) looks so much nicer. It’s now in a glass jar instead of plastic and has a much more modern label. It’s what’s inside that counts LOL but I appreciate the nicer design.

The only thing that I did not like about the product was the size. It costs too much for the amount of product that you receive and didn’t last very long, especially for someone who has eczema in more that one area of the body. I felt gipped.

I have had eczema on my hands since I was little and putting lotions on my hands was always an unpleasant thing. It was unpredictable. Would it sting and feel like fire? Would it bring relief? My hands were the embarrassment and pain of my young life – dry and rough, broken bleeding skin. I began to dread trying any kind of lotion – especially scented stuff – I knew it could redden and inflame my already sensitive skin.
I am 26 now and fortunately haven’t dealt with eczema in a while, but the combination of winter dryness and the increased sanitisation of my hands due to COVID regulations at work has caused my skin to break and crack again. So naturally, I was a little scared as I always am when trying a new lotion. I decided to try Manuka because of the stunning amount of positive reviews, and because it was all natural and unscented, and, I don’t know, the bee on the jar was cute and I always feel happy around and drawn to bumblebees.
The package arrived at my doorstep – I’m not even kidding – within hours of clicking the “place the order” button. An unexpectedly fast delivery! I smeared it on my hands and waited with apprehension for the inevitable fire to start under the skin on the backs of my hands, but instead I found my skin calming down immediately. The creases that made my hands look like those of a 75 year old’s seemed to soften and resolve. I was so impressed and naturally so happy, I kept reapplying a dab of it throughout that first day just to make sure it really wouldn’t hurt my hands – waiting again and again for that familiar fire to start – but it never did. It continues to feel absolutely amazing on my skin. I am already trying to get my coworkers who get dry hands from the chemicals and glove wearing at work to try Manuka. Beautiful, painless, organic relief – I didn’t think it was out there. Thank you Manuka for helping my hands to look and feel like happy human hands!
