The taste and effectiveness were what I expected. However, the containers are noticeably smaller than they used to be. The picture shows the 12oz containers – I received 2 8oz containers. That’s all that’s available in the stores as well.

Caught a REALLY bad cold/flu, thought I was going to end up in a hospital with pneumonia. God, really felt awful. Fever, cough, very severe congestion, sore throat, Rudolph’s nose from all the blowing and constant stuffiness, sneezing all over, aching face and muscles….man, this germ covered the whole territory of symptoms. I just felt too drained and weak to crawl to a doctor for an antibiotic and prescription cough syrup, so I tried an easier, old remedy that always worked many years ago. I got a twin pack of Nyquil and half a dozen cans of Campbell’s Chicken Noodle, and a big bag of Hall’s Honey Lemon Cough Drops. Mixed one can soup with 2 1/2 cans distilled water in a big plastic bowl, heated in microwave, and let steam, broth, and some nice slide-down-the-sore-throat-noodles do their magic thing. Reheated soup in microwave as needed, till gone, every few hours. And then I started the remedy, I hoped, good old Nyquil. I took it every six hours, didn’t skip doses. It was a miracle the way I slept with all the congested coughing. Kept A Hall’s Honey Lemon Cough Drop in my mouth at all times, even sleeping. Went through umpteen boxes of Kleenex, and a lot of Neosporin Eczema Moisturizer for my poor nose, and Carmex and Neosporin Lip for my poor lips. Went through my Twin pack and part of another one, but FINALLY, feeling better. Still some congestion, occasionally a small cough or two, but it’s gone. And without an antibiotic. Or a prescription syrup that was sure to make me icky and weaker than I already was. I still can’t believe it. And my Mom was suffering the same thing, but not quite as severe as mine, and it worked for her, too. So I say Vicks deserves a medal for their always amazing super cure. Yes, it took longer than antibiotic, but I didn’t have to spend money on doctor, and whatever tests he’d come up with, to prove I had what was under their non-running noses. However, if it comes back, I will figure I really do need doctor, and that’s where I’ll go. So, good luck, and my sincere sympathies if you are suffering this year’s nefarious germ.
