I really like this product mostly because it’s non-addictive. There’s no chemicals in it that are habitual. You can take it each night. Go to sleep immediately. You get a good nights sleep wake up feeling very refreshed so that you have a good day ahead of you, your mind is sharp. You get all your task done, you feel really good and energized. This is the first OTC sleep aid I have encountered that actually works. I am a chronic insomniac who has tried just about everything under the sun that is OTC. Sominex, Nature’s Harvest Sleep 3, Nature’s Harvest + Stress, Relaxium, Olly Sleep Aid, Qunol 5 in 1 Sleep Support, Carlyle 12 mg Melatonin, Zquill , Solaray Valerian Root extract, Benedryl, Equate Night Time Sleep Aid, Vitamin Magnesium Complex and nothing worked for me.
I found the reviews for Alteril Gel caps on Amazon, had tremendous reviews so I thought what have I got to lose? I used to average 3 to 4 days of non sleep and only through exhaustion, I would manage several troubled hours of rest.
The Alteril Gel caps are not available at any stores, I checked. Stores carry the tablet and was ineffective. I don’t know what the difference in chemical make up but you take 2 capsules a night with the Gel caps. I hope this helps with your decision to buy this very effective product. Update: June 1st 2922. Third day using Alteril soft caps and its the first time in a very long time that I have had three days of restful, sleep. I have not experienced ANY lingering side effects as I dId with SOLARAY’s Valarian Root capsules. Best OTC on market as far as my experience.
Update September 8th 2022. As some other customers have experienced, I started to develop a tolerance for Alteril which took longer for me to sleep. I have been prescribed Sonata from my family physician but I alternate between Alteril and Sonata . I eliminated Qunol Sleep from my rotation regime and so far this combination seems to work. Experimenting with one capsule of Vitalitown magnesium complex to see if it improves the quality of sleep. Will keep you updated.

They do not list the mg of the L-tryptophan; actually, not any list of ingredients; on the Amazon page where you click to buy it, If you typically use the original brand box (what comes in a yellow box & yellow tablet) The old version had 333 MG of L-tryptophan; The gel tabs have only 100 MG of L-tryptophan. So, no way can they be as effective unless you want to take 3 at a time, which is a very bad idea since the Melotoin would then be15 mg total (5 mg x 3) This assumiing you use only one tablet rather than 2 suggested).I guess it depends if you purchased the product for the L-tryptophan So you are much better off, trying to buy the original yellow box, yellow tablet; or buy L-tryptophan separately which can be at a higher dose; and the Melatonin at 5 mg.. The gel with only 100 MG is fine IF you don’t care for the L-tryptophan and you really are just after getting melatonin.. I really was leery buying these because they do not list ingredients at all on the Amazon page, but I was not expecting such a difference in the MG’s. I am not a doctor so do seek your doc’s advice. Just beware that the ingredients are very different from the yellow box, yellow tab. (which I have used for years). I consider the soft gel to be deceptive in the description. (lack of ingredients listed) And the bad news is they can not be returned. You can also go to Alteril.com a for a listing of products & ingredients.

This pills are amazing. Usually from other products that bought from stores I was getting a deep sleep but then I was very drowsy following day all day pretty much. But this pills are really good. You getting a nice sleep. Very calm and relaxed. As well as in the morning you feel nice, energetic and restful. The biggest thing for me I guess it’s being able to wake up fast and this is exactly how I feel. Good sleep with no problems during the day afterwards.
