I am a middle-aged woman with hair that is changing from course & curly to fine and wavy. So this means my long hair is constantly getting tangled. I’m also hesitant to purchase many hair products as my scalp is very sensitive and I’ve had a problem of hairloss this past year due to allergies. So when a friend suggested I try a “baby” product, I was little more receptive since it’s supposed to be gentle.
I generously added the product to my newly washed wet hair and then used a detangler comb. It was the smoothest combing my ratty hair has received. Hardly any effort and very little loose hairs coming off the comb. I was really surprised.
I did have difficulty on figuring out how to open the nozzle to use it; couldn’t find any instruction. If you turn it to the left or right till it clicks, then the valve is open for spraying.
The scent was fruity as advertised but was not overwhelming or lingering like some products (Aussie for instance).
I left the detangler in my hair while still wet for several hours. My hair, btw, did feel much smoother even with my combination of textures. Then I tested it with blow drying with no combing or brushing. Afterwards, I could STILL run my fingers through my hair very easily.
I slept with my hair loose overnight…next morning, I could STILL run my fingers through my hair very easily. And I’ve had no reaction from my sensitive scalp. My hair feels softer and not heavily scented…just smells clean.
All of this and the price is perfect compared to a normal grown woman’s hair care product that usually causes me problems. I can imagine it has to be great for babies and young children as well. I highly recommend this product if you have a young one with long and/or textured hair.

The scent is light and fruity. I am an adult and this is the only detangler I will use. There is no junk in it that is bad for you and actually fry your hair more. Causing you to use more detangler eventually making the situation so bad you have hair falling out in the shower. Clumps coming out in your brushes and combs. There are no dyes, no sulfates, no parabens, no phthalate, no sodium glycol, no formaldehyde. I also use all plant based shoer gels, shampoos, conditioners by Renpure with none of that garbage in it. I just started a few months ago. Just putting the shampoo in I could feel a difference in my hair with the shampoo still in my hair. Then when I put the conditioner in I could really tell there was going to be a big difference. I didn’t rinse it until I used the no junk body wash. I rinsed, got out towel dried lightly misted with the Johnson’s no more tangles and Renpure leave in coconut water mist and a touch of Renpure biotin collagen leave in mist. Mind you I did not drench my hair in these free from chemicals bad for you and the environment items. My hair is now like silk. I have long color damaged hair. I had to put it up In a bun every night. Or it was a rat’s nest. Now i leave it down. Wake up and can run my fingers through silk like hair. I usually do a light mist of the Johnson’s no more tangles in the morning and can run a comb or brush right through. Oh by the way, you can purchase all the amazing Renpure products on here too. Save the lids/sprayer when you finish using a bottle. Every 2-3 bottles end up having a sprayer malfunction making me wish I’d never recycled the previous one. It might keep you out of a jam if you hang onto a sprayer/lid.
That being said, our hairdresser told me 15 years ago by spraying this Johnsons product on my kids hair that they wouldn’t get lice. It might be an old wives tale and I know that sounds crazy but my little kids are all over each other like piles of puppies at school, and in the neighborhood, but we’ve never had lice during any of the school outbreaks over the last 15 years. That’s all my kids, in all grade levels in different schools. So . . . I am a believer that this not only gets the tangles out and works great as a leave-in conditioner it may also be the one reason why none of my kids have ever brought home the dreaded lice bugs. If you have ONE kid with it, you have to treat everyone in the house like they have it which means Mom & Dad also have to be treated. Plus there is the laundering of bed linens, towels, washing actual pillows . . . total freakin nightmare scenario.
So ask yourself what you prefer . . . spraying their little heads after the bath from preschool on up or dealing with a forced Spring Cleaning whenever one of your kids tries on their friends hat or uses another kids brush during a play date. Use the spray!! It has kept our large family from getting the awful critters even when everyone else around us were not so lucky, parents included. All of them had to use over the counter and prescription strength pesticides on their kids heads, usually more than once! Ew. That makes me shudder.
I have color treated hair and like that this spray offers a nice lightweight conditioning that’s very easy to add to the pre-blow dry routine and it keeps me from worrying about getting the dreaded itch. We’re less than a month into the new school year and someone in one of my kids clases already has the itch, newsletters from the school nurse went out, and my kids were among the unaffected. Knock wood!

I’ve ordered this product before and love it. However, my only complaint is the spray pump on the bottle. It doesn’t operate smoothly. I thought this was a problem unique to my last bottle, but the new one that I just opened operates the same way – there’s a catch in the pump action, making it difficult to spray smoothly.
