I had seen the trend of using makeup brushes to apply sunscreen on your kids and when I saw this item I knew I had to try it. The portability of these small brushes is great and they actually come with a small plastic case to keep the oils From the sunscreen off of your bag or wherever you’re storing the brush. I applied mineral sunscreen right on the brush and brushed it onto my baby’s legs and had no issues spreading it out nicely. I even tried it on myself for my shoulders and found I really liked not having oily/ sticky hands after applying. My husband absolutely hates touching lotions and sunscreen and I could see him using it for lotion in the near future for our baby’s bedtime routine as well. I love that it comes with two in a pack so you can use two different types of items such as sunscreen and lotion and not have crossing residues.

This is an interesting idea and it seems to work fine, but I’m not sure it will replace just using our hands. The applicator itself is nice and soft, but it isn’t the easily to clean when you are out on the beach and any sand that gets on it is a nightmare for the rest of the day. They also fit too perfectly in their carrying case, so when your hands are slick, it is hard to put in. The bowl-like thing where you put the sunscreen in and then use the applicator is also tough to clean and a sand-magnet — especially with little kids.
It’s a nice idea, and it might work for some people — especially who just do pools or non-beach — but it isn’t going to work out well for us. Not bad, just limited in it’s use.

It’s a good thing I am not a big person since these are about half the size of my palms. As someone who likes to apply creams throughout the day I was mostly interested in using a product to eaisly apply it without getting it on my hands which this job gets the job done though I am not sure exactly how much of the product is actually being applied and not sticking to the bristles.

When I first looked at this, I thought – do I really NEED this??
Well…If you have a child who hates putting on sunscreen (especially on their face), OR a dad who hates getting greasy sunscreen on their hands, this might be worth getting! It certainly makes sunscreen application fun for my toddler, since it’s kind of like putting on makeup.
This set comes with two small brushes that each store in their own plastic case, which is perfect for travel since you can toss it into a beach/pool tote without getting everything else messy. There’s also a silicone bowl that can be used to clean the brushes afterwards, which I plan to use with soap and water. The bowl has little grooves inside to help deep clean the bristles. The brushes themselves are small enough for your little one’s faces, and feel silky smooth and gentle on the skin. They are just as nice as my high end makeup brushes! No shedding either, even after tugging on the bristles. The cute paw shaped plastic handles are pretty easy to grip and make it even more enjoyable by my toddler.
My only complaints are that the brushes have to go into the case a certain way before it can be closed. It’s not super obvious to me which way it needs to go so it just takes a minute to get that worked out. The locking clips/tabs on the case work fine but seem to be a little on the cheap side and I can see them breaking over time.
Otherwise, this is definitely a nice to have kit for our children’s summer activities and for about $10 (with the available coupon right now) I think this is well worth the price.

These sunscreen brushes by Azazccm are so soft! I had them on my desk for a while before I got around to trying them and I found myself just playing with them and running them over my skin. I don’t like how they only fit a single way in the plastic cases though, not only whether the handle is facing up or down, but which side of the handle as it is different on both sides. Using the brushes for sunscreen or lotion, I found they did in fact spread the cream in an even coat over the skin. These are also marketed as potential makeup brushes, and while I don’t really wear makeup and I didn’t have any powdered makeup, I did have some concealer that I tried it out on and the same can be said about pigmented creams: the brush applies them in an even coat, and streak-free at least for the product I used.
I’m not sure about the cleaning cup. Due to the density of the brush, it may be somewhat helpful for getting into the bristles a little more, but you’re still going to want water, soap, and/or makeup remover to get the brushes clean. I probably wouldn’t bring this cup along with me as you can simply pop the brushes back into the case until you can wash it, but it may be useful to keep by your bathroom sink to aid in cleaning.
I’m not sure what this brush would do for preventing kids from eating the sunscreen. They’re still going to have an object with interesting texture covered in it in their hands. I think it might make it a bit more fun for kids to apply themselves though. I think where these brushes shine is keeping hands from getting so greasy. Some kids also may have trouble with the texture, but notably I’d say this is most useful for those who have sensory issues, be they kids or adults. A big reason why I don’t like applying or reapplying sunscreen is getting all the greasiness on my hands. This may encourage me to use sunscreen more often for skin protection as it keeps it off your palms completely while providing thorough coverage. By proxy, it also keeps it off of everything else you touch afterwards. The only thing I could ask for is the handle to be longer or have an optional attachment so it might enable you to reach your own back.
