I’m surprised to see some reviews that say this product has no smell. That’s simply not true; it has a distinct odor, which is typical for lanolin. That’s just the nature of this product. The smell is best described as “sheep.” It’s a smell that reminds me of saddle leather. It’s not altogether unpleasant, and not strong enough to be a big deal, especially if you are diluting it in a carrier oil or cream with fragrances added.

This is a thick oil, about as viscous as honey or molasses, with a rich amber color. The consistency is silky and very oily.

I purchased this for use as a beard oil ingredient, and it seems to work very well for that purpose. I added about 1 part of this lanolin oil to 4 parts of carrier oil and that seems to be more than enough to get the benefits without making it too thick for convenient use. For carrier oil I used 50/50 sweet almond and jojoba oil, and I added some essential oils for antimicrobial properties and for their pleasant smell. So far this seems like a very good combination for my beard, but it also feels great on my hands and face.

I have an autoimmune disease that causes my immune system to attack a lot of the glands that produce moisture in my body. This includes oil glands so my skin is EXTREMELY dry.

I love this product because I can add it to pure shea butter which helps it last longer. It’s also good for minor cuts and scrapes because it has antibacterial properties and protects like petroleum jelly does. It’s sticky and smells like clean farm animals but the scent fades quickly. I can’t live without this stuff in the winter.

This is a lovely product. It has very thick and oily texture that protects and moisturizes my skin. I use my body lotion after my shower and apply the lanolin to mix with the lotion already there. Hours later my skin feels soft and is healthy looking. I do recommend this product especially during cold winter months.

I have worked with many Lanolin products prior to this and all of them had that “flock of sheep smell.” Not this one. This claims to be “pure and natural” but they had to have significantly processed (refined) this to remove the odor? I am not complaining about not have that odor, but this is just odd. I have used it on two large leather furniture; I now know the synthetic parts as this Lanolin of course does not soak into synthetic, but it did soak into the real leather. I hand rubbed very very well into the leather and after an hour only some spots needed to be reappied due to the leather’s natural need for more oil. I also applied to a new pair of treads (sneakers) as those were terribly stiff to start and I rather have the oil make a little bit of a difference, which seemed to help a smidge. I used on a pair of 35 year old cowboy boots (well worn) that I had not treated in a couple years, and I was surprised how MUCH oil those boots required. I must have applied 3 layers onto the toe section, as those areas have micro-cracks due to worn/age. I do not recall treating the inside except when brand new, so I hit that as well. The sole slab was hit up too, and I now wish I had done this 15 years ago! Since this product does not stink, I can apply to my employment waist belts, and other job related leather goods, as well as my “lifting belt” as that is due (I honestly use it more as a strop than a lifting belt, but in either case that will benefit from a solid application). This consistency is too tacky to use on automotive parts, so I will keep to my aerosol Lanolin product for that application.

This product contains natural lanolin oil, in a natural carrier oil, so it has advantages over many of the products available.

I’m using it on my “old” and dry nails that have been splitting. It seems to be working. The only drawback is the fact that it takes awhile to be absorbed and you don’t want to get it on anything else (like clothes) until it’s dry.

I’ve given up on buying lotions and creams with my sensitive skin. This is easily spread and massaged into the skin esp warm damp skin fresh from a shower. I use this from my face to my toes, already a major improvement in moisture, softness, and my skin doesn’t hurt anymore.
I really appreciate it being shipped sealed with a solid cap, and with the dispenser cap included for once safely arrived. I admit I was a bit afraid of how the order might fare with this bottle in overall, but no need!

Hey. It’s lanolin. I’ve been using this brand for maybe two years now. It seems to be high quality and the price is right. Being natural is a big plus.

I had read about the benefits of using lanolin to help with eczema rashes. I had tried other eczema products (oatmeal based), but they didn’t seem to help. I also researched that there were many lanolin products that were possibly thick or even smelled.
I did a lot of reading to find this product and glad I did.
It smells very little, is about the consistency of thick maple syrup and applies well after warning it up in your hands or with a hairdryer. You don’t need much! A pea size works for a midsection. If it wasn’t somewhat thick, I’d question its quality. It has really helped my eczema and I saw results in a few days.
    Bonus…
After I apply, I do wash my hands. I can still feel it, which for me, is awesome. I then lightly stroke my long hair. Sooo smooth. I would never put it on my hair full strength, but this is the perfect dose, IMO.
Bonus bonus, I learned you can protect your knives from rusting by applying lanolin to them. Its also non toxic, so you can use on your kitchen knives too.
